Went there Saturday night for drinks and dinner before our show. The two people working the bar were Colin and Lauren. They were wonderful. I ordered the Lubys famous, Mai Tai pictured below and it was very good. They have a wonderful selection of happy hour bites that start at $4. We ordered the the crab balls and the coconut shrimp off the appetizer menu. They both were cooked perfectly.
I ordered the 3 course dinner and chose the IPA fish platter. It came with three pieces of fried fish, 5 fried shrimp, fries, salad, and a dessert of either creme brulee or bread pudding. This cost only $20.50 and they run this special starting Sunday through Thursday.
There were two other menu items to choose from which included coconut shrimp and something else that I don't remember.
It was possibly something with parmesan crusted fish but I'm not sure.
The food and desserts were amazing I opted for the bread pudding. The drinks were great as well and my wife was pleased, to see that they used SKY vodka as their well liquor. The restaurant and rest rooms were clean as well.
Overall you cannot go wrong with this place as the food was really fresh. Of course depending on what you order it can get expensive. That is true about any place though. There are several things on the menu that you can order that are not expensive. The flavor and taste of all the food is good.
If you are not looking to spend a lot you can hit up their happy hour, and get full off the appetizer menu and have a few drinks.
As stated they have food starting at $4 on the drink pictured is only $6 on happy hour. Happy hour runs from 4 pm to 7pm and the Mai Tai is only $9 when it's not happy hour.
We will definitely be back because of how well we were treated by Colin and Lauren. Along with the freshness, and amazing flavor of their food they prepared for us.
If you are looking for a excellent seafood eatery then look no further, Landrys Seafood House will hook up your taste buds with an amazing treat.
Again thank you Landrys for hiring and excellent team from those who work in the kitchen to those who make sure the place is clean and tidy.
To our fabulous bartenders you employ Colin...

Jackson immediately asked us if we wanted an appetizer we hadn’t had a chance to even sit of look at menu. I said we are ok for now and he offered bread and we said please to the bread.
Bread was never brought
No straws given had to try twice to get server’s attention .
Drinks were basically all ice so we needed a refill almost immediately.
Never brought bread or checked on us spent the whole time with his back to us assisting his one other table. Eventually he did have another table.
Waited waited waited
Manager walking back and forth but not checking on tables at all.
Jackson brought the food out. I kindly asked for refills and the bread he offered and we requested and the refills since our drinks are completely empty on the edge of the table. He said okay……
Warm food sitting on table. Waiting waiting
Kitchen door opens up I think great finally we get some service. Naw he’s just messing with receipts and possibly putting in a new order. More waiting
As someone who has been a server I couldn’t take any more of this treatment. I grabbed our plates and we went to the bar so we could hopefully finish off this meal in a decent way.
Hispanic bartender was very helpful and the most customer service oriented individual there. He should be manager of the place.
Manager comes over to apologize but I didn’t want to hear any of it as she had previously just been hanging out in dining room not actively checking on what few tables they had. I waved her off so we could eat in peace.
Manager came back to register at the bar and started discussing the situation in front of us which was very professional. I guess she didn’t care for being waved off so we could eat?
Denied her free desert offer but I wouldn’t trust anything from the back after making a complaint.
Pretty much on par for what I expect from a...
Read moreThe Saturday evening before Mother's Day, as you can imagine most places were booked up, but I was able to grab a 7:45 PM reservation for a table of 2 here.
No reservations were necessary, the place was pretty empty.
Service started out strong, but then tapered off throughout the night. Drink refills were slow coming (or absent).. Second drink from the bar sat there for nearly 10 minutes (we could see it) before we caught our waitress and asked about it. Again, the place was mostly dead.. maybe 7 tables.
Let's talk about the consumables.
Crawfish Bread - This was our appetizer, and it was delightful. We really liked it.
Captain's Punch - Wife loved it.. did not taste strong, but definitely had a kick.
Iced Tea - Was standard.. but was ridiculously priced at $4 AND I only got one refill the whole night.
Caesar Salad - Lettuce seemed "old", and the ceasar dressing had a pungent flavor.. almost horseradish-y. Did not finish.
Shrimp & Crab Gumbo - Was watery. Looked like rice soup. I could taste the rice, not the soup. 3 pieces of meat; two of the shrimp were tough and meaty. The 3rd piece, might have been crab. Did not finish.
Fried Seafood Platter + Oysters (with a side of Vegetables instead of fries) - Not a single thing on this plate was hot.. I take that back, the bland vegetables were hot, but oddly not thoroughly cooked. Everything seemed "old". Did not finish.
Not only did we not finish 3 items, we chose not to take anything home. The staff was not concerned.
We did notice the premium pricing on everything (spent over $100 with tax and tip), and noted how 2 nights before we had a much better experience (including the atmosphere and elegance) for half the cost at a near by competitor.
Laundry's used to be the Belle of the Ball here in Katy, but I can't...
