I recently visited SomiSomi, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. If you’re a fan of unique desserts and delicious soft serve ice cream, this place is a must-visit.

I can’t pretend to not enjoy the ice cream here, however their customer service is absolutely abysmal.

We were visiting w 3 children (6, 3, and 2).

After having ordered our ice cream, we attempted to pay. Their credit card system was apparently down as we attempted to pay using 4 different credit cards among the adults that were present. After about 10 minutes of trying to run the cards over and over again the guy running the register called his boss. The boss instructed him the only thing to do was to just continue to try to run the card (register person informed us this was the 3rd time that day this had happened).

We proceeded around to the pickup side of the counter with the kids who were all anxious and antsy at this point as they wanted their ice cream. All of our order was made and sitting on the counter behind the glass, however they would not give us the ice cream until the payment was processed.

We are now about 20 minutes into this ordeal and the line is now backed up outside the door…..and the guy in the register says he can’t get it to work and that he’s sorry, but they cannot serve us.

So what did the girls in the back do with our order….in front of all 3 kids with their faces pressed against the glass….THEY DUMPED THE WHOLE ORDER IN THE GARBAGE CAN IN FRONT OF THE KIDS.

I understand every business is there to provide a product or service and make a profit….but in what world does it make sense to throw product in the trash that was already made in front of the kids who were excited to get it….when it was your payment system that was not operating properly.

Apparently SOMISOMI can train anyone to make a chocolate filled fish, but does not care enough to train their employees on common sense or customer service.

Needless to say the kids all had a major melt down and we will...

3.5: The shop is nice and clean. I ordered the matcha and cookie butter in a cup. Looked very nice with strawberry piece on the side, but I wasn’t crazy about the flavours. I love matcha, but I could barely taste it next to the cookie butter flavour and I didn’t think the two were good together. Service was ok, but I did request a small sample just like any ice cream shop but they said no. I understand it would be time consuming to sample the ice cream to every single person but maybe when u have a line up not when it’s quiet? Personally I would’ve gone with another flavour had I sampled it. Taiyaki with Nutella filling was nice and the ube plus cookies n cream swirl was good as well. Would be back for the taiyaki though and maybe to try a different flavour. Had I been able to pick the flavour that I could’ve enjoyed I would’ve...
