It has great sales (especially BOGO) and in general, everyone who works there is great, responsive and kind but today I had a very questionable and bad experience. I do not know that I can recommend going here fully-- especially if you use cash. It made me feel like embezzlement is going on. I never use cash, but I had to today and I was starkly reminded of how the world is also filled with not-too-honest people and that classism is real.
I went to this store and the appears to have not given me the correct change. When I returned less than half an hour later to ask for it to be looked into and just verified through the till so I could be given the proper amount if necesary(it was probably a mistake, right?), the cashier and the Manager (supposedly **), treated me in an unpleasant manner. The cashier acted very suspiciously. I no longer think it was a mistake. All they needed to do was check her till to see if the correct amount was in there. Now, I will never really know. I did not count the change as I was in a rush and made multiple purchases and when she handed me back the change, she folded it in half. đ
3)the manager appears to have lied to me about her email. I gave her my email and then asked for hers to have a record of the interaction and supposed time frame. I sent the email at the store so we would have this and by the time I left the store, it had come back as an incorrect email.
I had stopped going to JC Penney for a couple of reasons but a family member wanted to go. They DO have great sales. To possibly have money stolen from me is always upsetting. To then be treated in a classist manner while the very same person who appears to be the culprit is another. To be further lied to by management is even worse.
I do not post negative reviews, but this is an exception. I do not recommend going to this store without caution. Maybe do not check out I women's? I have absolutely NO faith that I will hear back from the store. I have no faith that I will be returned the money. I DO believe that other customers will be vilified for using cash there and treated with classist disdain if they dare to question anything.
It is disheartening and infuriating that anyone should be cast in a negative light because someone feels that using cash (of all things) is a "poor people" thing. And further, to be lied to about contact.
Zero stars originally, but it is quite unfair to hurt everyone because of two dishonest people. Zero stars for the manager and the probably thief and five stars for everyone else who...
Read moreWorst customer service! The people at Walmart are nicer! I asked three people to direct me to where cardigans might be which I got 1. An eye roll followed by "I dunno maybe over there"; 2. Oh I don't know ""mami" (seriously), maybe look on the other side of the store; 3. I'm not sure let me look (I wish I had gotten her name bc she at least offered to look for me. So I have quite a few items in my hands and I asked if I could leave them at the register which some girl named Aria gave me a disgusted look and asked if I'm coming back in a very rude way. I asked very politely to please not put these up bc I'm going to get a few more things I didn't want to carry them and they were the only size in those particular pants. She rolled her eyes and said I guess you can put them over here. Then I come back ten minutes later to check out and I went to the spot on the counter where she told me to put them not only were they gone a tall blonde Russian woman told me I needed to get in line (which there was none) and I said of course I'm just looking for my stuff. She then said more harshly ma'am I need you to get in line. The second I walk to the start of the line she says "now I can help you" ... At this point I'm already very upset but I really liked the clothes bc it's hard to fit my body type so I just brushed it off. Then I explained to her the situation as she was standing next to Aria (who absolutely heard me bc she rolled her eyes, AGAIN!) and asked if she could at least look or ask aria where she put the items. I had probably $300 worth of clothes and jewelry and the Russian lady told me sorry for the inconvenience (before she even looked or asked) but you're going to have to find something else. So she proceeded to turn to ask aria (who was with another customer) and waited five mins so I finally interjected, again politely, excuse me aria, can you tell her where you put my clothes so I can checkout? She didn't even look at me so I said "wow, you are extremely rude" well she looked at me then! So I know she heard the conversation and just chose to ignore me and her coworker .. So at this point I said forget it I left everything at the counter and I will not only never shop there again but I have told everyone else I know not to either. I'm a retail manager and I was appalled by the lack of customer service and how they went out of their way to be rude. Even if I had been rude or ugly or overly demanding which I most definitely was not, I still shouldn't have had that experience from practically every employee in the store. Management needs to coach these employees on how to provide customer service or this store will...
Read moreThis is absolutely the worst salon I've ever been to. They go through stylist changes ALL THE TIME. I had a couple favorite stylists I usually went to but they all ended up leaving one after the other. One day I came in for a haircut that the receptionist claimed was "the best" but I came out with an uneven mess and I mean this stylist got me looking TORE UP. And I mean this woman claimed she was a "natural and curly hair expert" and went ham with the scissors not caring what she was doing. I was kind of concerned when she was cutting my hair wet and not sectioning my hair the way the others usually did (usually blow dried cut then washed again for the curly go look). I never questioned her because I thought JCPenney hired a professional. I walked out of the store with a long patch of hair on the right side of my head and hair was making a zigzag shape I was devastated and I couldn't stop crying. I called to complain and it seemed they did not care until I called corporate, then the store manager. I came in and the other stylist was shocked she was nice and immediately took pictures to send to her boss and apologized. She told me this is the worst cut she's ever seen and her boss agreed to have it fixed for free. She ended up cutting more hair off. I was literally crying in that chair, and she apologized and was angry at the person who did this to me. I would expect JC Penney to care enough to offer free services to people who were treated this way. MY HAIR IS STILL NOT EVEN. The stylist ended up saying "This is the best I can do" I didn't blame her because my hair was a disaster, really it looked better than before. I don't know if that other woman was fired as she should be but absolute worst experience of my life. I don't know why she did this to me, it's been a month and one side of my head is in a different shape then the other and there are strands of short hair everywhere. Ladies if you have natural curly hair, please go to a salon to has expertise on this, no matter the price. Because JC Penney clearly doesn't have EXPERTISE. I had to call different people even Corporate to have the Salon manager to offer to fix my hair for free and no i didn't get a refund. I will NEVER...
