Coconut Corner was a good pit stop on our long driver around the island. It is a tropical paradise in Waimea. With a wide variety of fresh fruits available, either in pre-cut boxes or by the piece, it's a fruit lover's dream. The place can get quite busy, but the service is remarkably fast.
One minor inconvenience is the lack of a public restroom on the premises. The nearest one is a short walk away at the Waimea Pier. While this isn't a major issue, it's worth noting for those planning a longer visit.
The coconut experience was enjoyable, but a bit more transparency would be appreciated. The coconuts are displayed in a pile outside, and customers are expected to select their own. The pricing varies based on size, but it can be challenging to accurately gauge the difference. I personally found myself paying different amounts for coconuts of seemingly similar size, which left me feeling a bit uncertain about the pricing system.
Despite this minor hiccup, Coconut Corner offers a delightful experience. The shaded seating area is perfect for enjoying your fresh fruits. If you're in Waimea, I recommend stopping by Coconut Corner for a refreshing and...
Read moreThis review is for their fruit, not the Thai food. We got a large chilled fresh young coconut ($9) from them which they cracked the top open for us. It was full of refreshing coconut water and after we drank all the liquid away, I brought the coconut back for them to halve so we could access the young coconut meat within. It was fresh, no rotten spots, and sweet although not as sweet as a Thai coconut. It's free for them to cut it in half but for a dollar or two more, you can get them to remove all the coconut meat for you so you can just shovel the meat in your mouthhole without any labor.
I also purchased some fresh sliced mango and stripped, sectioned sugar cane from their chilled case. The mango was very sweet and juicy, my family kept diving into the container for more and the sugar cane was just the right amount of sweet. They gave us a paper bag to expel the chewed-up cane into which was a nice way to dispose of it, civilized albeit excessive.
They had baskets outside their steps for you to dispose of the spent coconut shells, and there were several opportunistic chickens pecking at the remains of the meat others...
Read moreWe kind of stumbled into this place on our way back from the Waimea Canyon State Park. The stall is bright lit and really catches your eye. They don’t really have good parking options. Either park on the road in front which is very busy and in the alley across the street.
We ordered their smoothies. The Pina colada, and a blend of pineapple, mango, strawberry. I liked the freshness of the fruits and the blend of flavors. At first I was a bit disappointed that the drinks were small. But they were also dense and we could barely finish what was given to us.
They also sell fresh fruits and some food items. But the majority of the people sitting there were for their smoothies.
A great...
