Great food! Wow we were impressed. A lot of plate lunch spots can be so repetitive but this one stood out. We got one of everything and didn’t regret it. Got the kalbi ribs , chicken, pork belly(taste like an amazing pork chop) and mahi w/creamy sauce and capers. We asked to get everything a lil more browned and he did and it was so tasty. My family of four(who are picky) loved it…not picky cause they don’t like anything but picky cause we cook so good at home, we’re not easily impressed. Lots of love was put into the food. Marinated , browned, and good portions. The only critique is that the fish could’ve used a dash more of salt but I understand that when it comes to fish you don’t want to over season so u can taste the fish. But it was still cooked really well, fresh and did enjoy it. We also enjoyed the little bit of Kimchi that was added, nice touch. And I think it was grilled😋 The Mac salad was bomb and so was the saimin was better than the norm. Had a bit of smokiness. We needed up get everything if u go. But There were a couple tables there. This spot didn’t have many reviews so we were hesitant but we’re really glad we went and we hope more people start going and support this food truck. We loved it. We live on Oahu but if we lived on island this would be one of our go to spots. The owner was super nice , friendly and helpful. Thanks chef! 💕

We wanted local Hawaiian food after venturing into Waimea Canyon and found this food truck place and some local vendors. Plenty of foods to choose from but this was highly recommended by one of the local vendors. Hoku studied culinary in Oregon. We ordered the Furikake Panko Crusted Salmon and the Furikake Panko Crusted Mahi. They were excellent, delicious, and very flavorful. My wife and I, are still craving Hoku's until now and wish he had more branches on the island and neighboring Hawaiian Islands. His whole family, including his dad, were very kind and generous and gave us fresh mangoes from their tree and sliced them for us. We highly recommend you stop by and try their food if you're in the area. You won't regret it.

DELICIOUS! I don’t know why there wasn’t a long queue for lunch when I stopped at this amazing food truck in Waimea. The pan roasted ono with rice and mac salad was soooooo good. Great place to get a takeaway lunch when visiting Waimea or the area around

Wayyy overdue review!! We have been going to Hokus food truck for nearly a year now, for lunch, and its simply amazing perfection each and every time! I am consistently amazed by the dishes he can make out of a food truck! I will say we have never had a single bad item! My absolute favorite to date is a lemon caper mahi- that truly could have some from your high end five star restaurant!! We've had numerous salmon dishes and they are amazing; he also has other amazing dishes such as quesadillas, Kelbi (beef or chicken), and Korean style dishes. Highly highly recommend Hokus as one of the best food options on the west...
