Went two times to this location while staying in Princeville. The first visit was 5 stars. Food was perfect, coffee was awesome, staff was knowledgeable and everything was amazing. Comparable pricing with other local breakfast spots we went to.
The second visit was still good but the reason for one less star. The staff were still SO SWEET, but we both felt like everyone was maybe newer, including the chef. I got the same meal again (the breakfast bowl with the pesto) and a side of toast. The person who helped me was unsure how to ring in the toast (no problem with that part) but they gave me bread toasted that was meant for a sandwich, not sourdough toast like I had asked for and gotten just two days before! The bowl itself did not seem to have the same care put into it. My partner also got the same thing (salmon bagel sandwich. I think the dilly sandwich it's called) and again it was very good, but felt sloppy and not the same care put into it.
Regardless of this, we would absolutely recommend this spot and return next time we...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe wish we found Java Kai in the beginning of our trip. We love this place for so many reasons. First, the coffee was so good, the best I've had anywhere. In fact, I bought some to bring home. The food was so fresh and so delicious. Many yummy choices. We had an awesome breakfast burrito and an avocado toast with egg. Their avocado toast was delicious...nicely toasted sourdough stood up to the avocado, seasoned and topped with pickled red onion and an egg fried to perfection. To compliment this tasty breakfast, I had crispy bacon. So so good. Service was excellent. Nice people and what a good vibe there at JAVA KAI in Kilauia. Hopefully I spelled that right. Oh, last and very important, this establishment was clean. Good indication that the kitchen was clean as well....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI can't say enough good things about Java Kai Cafe! It was hands down the best breakfast I've had on the island, and those waffles... absolutely incredible truly the best on Kauai! The entire staff was so friendly and welcoming, really embodying that true Aloha spirit. I had an unfortunate situation where I accidentally left my wallet behind. By the time I realized, I had already flown to another island! I reached out to the cafe, and Jenny, the manager, and her team were beyond understanding. They went out of their way to send my wallet all the way to Oahu! Iām so grateful for their patience and generosity.
If you're ever in Kilauea, Java Kai Cafe is a must!! Not only for the delicious food but for the genuine care they show their customers. Don't miss it on your next...
