Where to start? From a "I rarely complain publicly" attendee of this event. The food was catered and cheap. What should've been 30 minutes to feed the attendees in a single buffet line took over an hour. Two lines would've created a much smoother service line. The fact that it was pouring rain off and on during the food service and the line was outdoors leading indoors made for very wet attendees by the time they got served. There was plenty of room to have the line come indoors, but no one from the event was paying attention to this detail to take care of the crowd. An attendee made a command decision and easily corrected the problem saving at least half the attendees from getting soaked further, all without making anyone that had already eaten even realize what had happened. Folks who were served first and finished their food were treated to house music and sitting in a stuffy community center filling time by staring at their phones. The "opening act" was a local musician who was good but could've been playing the entire time food was being served and eaten creating a much better environment. Due to the rain, the smooth concrete floors inside were wet and not until 3 people slipped and/or fell down did the staff make some changes to create a safer entryway that was heavily used throughout the night. Once the FIRE entertainment started, it felt worth being there. But knowing we could've spent the same, overall money elsewhere and recieved an authentic luau experience with free drinks, much better food, all for the same price truly left our group utterly disappointed. Do what you want, but you've been warned. This place is, at best, a 2 star event only due to the actual entertainment and nothing more. And, yes, we've been to other shows on the Island...this one won't see us again. Oh, I forgot to mention how ridiculously expensive the drinks and "deserts" were. Two popsicles and 2 cookies was over $20. Over $5 for a regular size can of soda and $12-15 for a mixed drink in what amounted to a...
Read moreAbsolutely magical show with fantastic and personable performers. As avid luau attendees (we’ve attended 10+ across the different islands), this one felt so special. The dinner service is a little slow, but the food was delicious, and there was ample time to get through everyone with seconds and plenty of time to relax and make new connections. The music pre-show is wonderful and featured lovely hula. Go into it knowing you may wait in a dinner line, but grab a drink, and enjoy meeting a couple new people while you wait.
But friends, the fire show? That is worth its weight in gold. The host is an absolute treasure and the musicians and the dancers are spectacular. There are even intimate stories and history as well as comedic elements. Yes, it’s not your big city luau with bottomless drinks, it doesn’t do the big lei greeting, but it makes up for it all and then some with truly special music, wonderful people, beautiful stories and lots of incredible fire elements I’d never seen! And for those of us who have been to the big luaus a lot, they do end up feeling very repetitive.
This was wonderfully different in a perfectly perfect way. If you want a traditional luau, bottomless drinks, and all the party, this is not quite that. It’s deliciously new, exciting, and real. If you want to support incredible people who LOVE what they do and love sharing their history, this is your show. And this really is the best part of a luau show (the fire) extended for over an hour - so much excitement, gasps, and even peeking through our hands. This was such a core memory and I hope you love it as...
Read moreThey are very unorganized and won’t honor your spot on the show only wait list. I heard that the food sucks so I only wanted to see the show. I called 2 months before to put myself on the show only waitlist. The guy on the phone told me it was guaranteed since they reserve 20 spots for show only and I was at the top of the waitlist. I called from and gave him my phone number that should be used the day of. He said I would get a phone call the morning of to confirm and complete the booking. I even called 2 weeks before to ensure I was still on the list. The day of the show arrives and I don’t get a call. I called them myself in the AM and the woman in the phone says that they tried calling but couldn’t get a hold of anyone. I then ask what number they used for me since I never got a missed call and it was a random number I never heard of. The woman on the phone told me that everything was booked up and she then asked her manager if an exception could be made for the 3 of us but the answer was quick no. They didn’t even offer to put me at the top of the waitlist for their next show. It was THEIR MISTAKE when the guy put down a random, incorrect phone number for me that I never mentioned! And then I have to deal with a crying 7 year old who was looking forward to seeing a fire show. Very unorganized and clearly didn’t care to try to accommodate for THEIR MISTAKE. Terrible...
