I had high hopes upon entering this restaurant. The decor was very pleasing. The Maitre D (woman) sat me at a table. Initially, I found the maitre d cordial, not too friendly. Upon returning to my table (from ladies room), I found the menu and an empty glass. My glass was filled with water; a bit later my order was taken. While waiting for my food, I watched how this same maitre d and other staff interacted with other patrons. Their interaction was friendly and responsive toward other guests. However, I was not greeted as such. In fact, I felt ignored. Even when the maitre d brought me my mocktail, she merely placed it on the table and quickly left to tend to a larger party behind me. Another server brought my food; she was more pleasant. The entree - BBQ Ribs - and my mocktail (coconut/pineapple blend) were excellent. Still, my water glass was only filled once. No one asked how I enjoyed my meal or drink. I dined for more than 30 minutes. By then, the ambience for me has clearly soured. Another server briefly asked if I wanted desert. I declined. Shortly afterward, I was brought the check. I decided to leave a modest tip ($5 on a $40 bill), just giving the restaurant staff the benefit of the doubt. But, I decided to Iet mgmt know that I was unhappy with the service. I did ask a server for the manager, but she directed me to the maitre d. The server could not or would not say if mgmt was available when I advised I wanted to lodge a complaint. She would only say that "woman behind the bar" (maitre d I assumed) could assist me. I did advise the maitre d that I was dissatisfied with my service. I told her I felt ignored, while other guests were treated with more interaction. I did tell her that the food and mocktail were excellent. She merely advised that I was served. I left repeating that I received bad service. I will not patronize this establishment again, and will not recommend...
Read moreThis was not our first choice, but the Korean BBQ was inexplicably closed. The restaurant was able to take a last-minute reservation for our large party, which was courteous, but told us they could not seat us all together. Upon entering the restaurant, we couldn't figure out why, as there were only four occupied tables and lots of empty ones. I feel they could have figured out some way to arrange us together, given the layout.
Service was spotty, waters were not replenished, bread was stingily handed out one roll to a person and then never again unless requested specifically, and the dinner was REALLY expensive for the quality and quantity of the food we received.
I had a lobster tail, which had an unusual herby flavor and yet was extremely bland. I don't think I've ever had a bland lobster tail, it was very puzzling. My son had chicken wings, also bland. My father and daughter both had bbq ribs. Bland.
In addition to the expensive and uninteresting food, there was a relentless ukelele player who serenaded us with a loud, continuous medley of pop/rock songs gently arranged for ukelele. Her playing was proficient, and she had an impressively large repertoire, but I could have used a break between songs. It was a bit much and grated a bit on the nerves, although it added a certain uniqueness to the atmosphere. She only took one 7-minute break during our hour-long meal. I was somewhat disappointed when she started up again. My son liked it though! I guess it's a matter of personal taste.
I would not come back here. I like to be honest and kind in my reviews, but I'm finding it very difficult to find many positives about this restaurant. The Asian-themed statuary was quite nice, and the whole place had interesting accents as decor, so extra star...
Read moreAwful. Absolutely horrendous. I never leave reviews, but I must write this one. Appetizers - Calamari was decent, dipping sauce was too sweet and tasted bottled. Crab cakes were really bad - good size, great crunch, tasted like canned tuna fish. Our entrees were Seared duck and scallops. The duck was gamey, undercooked, and chewy beyond actually being able to chew it. Just awful - and I like food, and I am not that picky. I will eat mediocre food and enjoy it for what it is. The dish was inedible. The scallops - six small scallops, whatever, it didn't say sea scallops so whatever. My friend and I each ate one, and only chose to not spit it out because we were in public. Awful. I mean really, really awful (scallops are probably my favorite food, FYI., even ones that are meh.) They were so gross and fishy. The pesto was grocery store style and underwhelming, but again, I could've let that go if the scallops weren't basically rotten. The waitress was rude and unapologetic, and insisted that we pay for 1/2 of the entrees because we had eaten some. We two of six scallops and two slices of duck. Oh yeah, don't forget the stringy bitter asparagus. I am 51 years old and these are the two worst dishes I have ever been served in a restaurant. Again, I want to stress just how awful they were. We had to eat something else immediately to get the taste out of our mouths. Did I mention that it was really, really bad? LOL PS - I refused to pay for the entrees - let her know that if she needed to call the police I would be happy to talk with them but that I would not pay. She argued, never apologized, and finally brought me a bill with just the appetizers and the...
