Mama Bear’s Kitchen is hands down one of the best food stops we’ve had in a long time! My husband and I ordered a mushroom Swiss smash burger and a chicken Caesar, and both were absolutely out of this world. The burger was juicy, loaded with flavor, perfectly smashed with crispy edges, and topped with melty Swiss and savory mushrooms. The Caesar was fresh and flavorful, and you could tell every ingredient was chosen with care.
While we were waiting for our fresh fries to finish cooking in the fryer, they even brought our dogs their own unseasoned burger patty. Such a thoughtful touch and so rare to find that level of kindness and hospitality these days.
This place is Hawaiian owned, and the passion for food and community shows. The owner and his chef Bob, a former professional in fine dining, clearly know what they are doing. Everything is cooked perfectly and served with genuine aloha. Whether you are local or just visiting, this is a must try spot. Support local, eat amazing food, and leave happy just...
Read moreThis is a food truck but boy do they make the best hamburgers and fries. I had the salmon toast with cream cheese and capers topped with greens, it was decent but a little salty for my taste buds but that's what one would expect from smoked salmon. I had to remove the capers to reduce some of the salty flavor.
This food truck was recommended by Jordan and Erica of "The Hawaii Vacation Guide" so we included it as a stop on our way to Waimea Canyon. You MUST get their Itinerary. It's so worth it because they know the best spots!
We went on July 4th and they were actually open and very friendly! It did take a while to get our food but it was worth it. They had us wait in our car and bought us our food when it was done. That was nice.
We ate in our rental SUV since there wasn't a picnic area, at least we didn't see any, but that's ok because the food was so good that it didn't really matter and we were comfortable sitting in the car with air...
Read moreThis place is awesome! My husband and I have a collective age of almost ninety years (46 & 43). We also have a very high bar for breakfast sandwiches. My husband once watched a Heston Blumenthal cooking show about making a steak sandwich and then proceeded to run to an East London grocery store (Tesco’s) to buy all the necessary ingredients and prepare the exact same sandwich. In a world of fast food, it is rare to find true artistry in sandwich making. But find it we did. In Hawaii, in Kauai, in Waimea, at Mama Bear’s Kitchen. This is without doubt one of the most amazing places to get your breakfast! My hubby had the Da Boujee and I had the Da Bearitto. Both were excellent and totally surpassed our breakfast cravings. Rarely have I experienced such breakfast happiness! Even a team of three star Michelin chef unicorns could not have achieved such an outcome. Simply put, excellent. Visit this place. It is...
