North Shore Bowls — Restaurant in Kauai

The açai bowl was delicious and agreed one of the best I’ve had. However giving 3 stars as we also ordered a sandwich and nearly 10 minutes after my açai bowl arrived we were told the bread for the sandwich wasn’t available, then another few minutes past and most of the ingredients for the sandwich were unavailable. Obviously could be a one off but the time that past to notice this was disappointing as if it had been communicated earlier we could have changed order. They did let him switch his meal but it did mean it was over 25 minutes from one of us getting our food to the other person in the same order getting their food. My whole family has been going regularly to Reef at North Shore Bowls. Here’s what I love- the açaí is “the real deal” as someone who has grown and processed açaí ourselves. The KTown bowl is the perfect combo with all the toppings & peanut butter. My kids love the Strawberry Storm smoothie (strawberry, banana, guava, & pineapple). And I’ve gotten the cold brew with coconut foam several times. My husband gets just a pain açaí bowl- no toppings. So good! My favorite bowls on Kauai island. I like that their bowls are less elaborate and a lot healthier than other acai places on the island, but they still clearly put a lot of care and love into their bowls and toppings.

The fruits were fresh and high quality, and the acai base was less sweet (no sambazon sorbet here). They have lots of mixin options including vegan and whey protein which I appreciate!
