Barbara's Café — Restaurant in Kearny

A disappointing experience for a visitor from out of state.

I decided to try this spot for breakfast/brunch and placed a pickup order through Uber Eats. Unfortunately, both orders I received were incorrect. One had egg (which I’m allergic to), and the other had pork, even though I had specifically requested no egg and no prosciutto (no pork) due to religious restrictions.

When I brought this to the owner’s attention, her initial solution was simply to remove the pork from the sandwich. I politely explained that I can’t have pork at all. I then requested a substitute, like chicken or extra egg, but was told the only option without an additional charge was extra cheese.

At that point, I didn’t feel comfortable proceeding with the order and requested a refund instead.

Overall, I was disappointed with how the situation was handled, especially considering my patience with both orders being wrong and the lack of proper business etiquette.

It's really disappointing to see someone in charge of a business treating customers this way. I won't be returning, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone looking for a positive...
