Horrible experience during such a critical time as is this one with the pandemic. Ordered takeout and unsure whether my order was given to someone else who returned it prior to my arrival, based on comments the customer said. Nobody wants to be touching someone's cellphone but that is their form of paying the food. They have a cellphone which you have to touch with your finger to leave a tip, sign your name, and add your phone number. Needless to say I didn't do it. This is not the time to be putting my fingers on a cell phone touched by hundreds. There was a man who went into the establishment without a mask and nobody said anything to him when there are handwritten signs by the door and by the take out window clearly stating that everyone who approaches or enters must be wearing a mask. Worst part, I get home and the order is wrong, the scallops looked like peas, after I specifically asked the person on the phone how big the scallops were because I didn't like the small ones. We didn't get our flied plantains, and when I called to tell them, there was no apology, I was told I ordered wrong, when I clearly had her repeat the order on speaker, and there were others around me who heard it. She basically said, "so what are you gonna do?? I don't think this location has the same owner as before, because I have been looking for a website, or a social media platform to express my concern, and there isn't one for them. Upon arrival, I noticed that the outdoor tables and chairs were quite dirty, with a layer of dust that was off-putting. However, I must commend the staff for their quick response; they promptly cleaned the area, which made a positive impression.
While waiting for our orders, we experienced a delay in receiving all our dishes at once. Some items, like the lobster cream, had to be reminded to the waiters. Additionally, there was a mix-up with the order: instead of the arroz Amarillo con tostones, we received arroz Amarillo with maduros, and the congris and maduros were confused in the presentation.
Another point of concern was the snapper filled with crabs. I had anticipated a burst of flavor, but it fell short and seemed a bit undercooked for my taste.
Despite these hiccups, the customer service was commendable, and the staff were attentive and friendly. Overall, it was a good experience, but I believe that addressing these issues can help the business grow and enhance the dining experience for future guests. I have been a customer of the Bahamas restaurant for many years (Local 8th ST) but I moved to Kendall and this place is closer to me, the atmosphere in this specific place from the beginning has not been to me liking, very bad customer services from the waitresses, but I have returned here because I like the food of Bahamas Restaurant and the place is very close to my house, but specifically the experience that my Family and I had today (06/22/24 7:30 pm) was one of a lot of discrimination, very unpleasant, today they made us feel very bad, from the service of the waitresses to the manager, since when we arrived 25 minutes passed and no one attended to us, however, after us between 13 to 15 people, better dressed, Cubans, arrived and were attended to immediately, we had to get up and leave, but first we asked for the manager who never showed up, it was a great lack of respect since we were not asking for free food, we were coming from work and we were going to pay for the service.
