Came here with my boyfriend for lunch during the weekday and the place was empty except for us. They definitely should throw something on their tv or some music since the place was so quiet I felt like I had to whisper during my meal not to be overheard. The server was nice though and immediately handed us menus & complimentary chips/housemade salsa. The chips were a little stale and you could tell that they were not made immediately fresh though the salsa was good. My boyfriend and I decided to order an appetizer with an entree menu for us to share. For the appetizer I ordered the cheese fries with pork: fries smothered in jack, cheddar cheese, sour cream, and arbol sauce. My boyfriend ordered the Enchiladas Suizas $13 and based upon the servers recommendation with ropa vieja. The Enchiladas Suizas came with 3 corn tortillas filled with protein and were topped with tomatillo, poblano cream, and chihuahua cheese with rice and beans on the side. Everything tasted pretty good but nothing really blew us away. Also, we received our cheese fries with ropa vieja instead of pork which was a let down. The server also recommended ropa vieja but didn't notify us that it was extra money, the most expensive protein available. The flavor was there but the enchiladas didn't have enough sauce to enjoy. My cheese fries had hardened cheese which tells me they might've been sitting out for a little while as they prepared the enchiladas. Overall I won't be returning since I felt that my mediocre experience here was not at all worth what I ended up paying. The prices listed on most of the menu are just base prices in which you have to add which protein you prefer. My cheese fries ended up costing $9 and the enchiladas $16. Disappointed because I've heard good things about this place but seems highly overrated to me. IG: @KFitzEats

This place is amazing. I went a couple of times when they were at their old location on 97th Ave and it's as good as ever in this new spot. The queso fundido with ropa vieja was excellent to start with and the guacamole tasted extremely fresh. For the main course, I got the smothered burrito which was also incredible. I loved the ropa vieja in the queso so much that I got it as my protein in the burrito and I was not disappointed. My wife ordered the chicken and steak fajitas which she thoroughly enjoyed as well. For dessert, we got the horchata ice cream and all I can say is WOW! I had never heard of horchata before but this ice cream was incredible. It was like having the ice cream version of rice pudding. 10/10 would recommend and I'll definitely be trying to recreate it at home with my ice cream machine! Service was great and price was fair as well which results in an easy 5/5. I will 100% be back.

This place is a gem!!!! Can’t wait to come back here when I’m craving Mexican. Came with my best friend for taco Tuesday deals and the place was PACKED, lots of family seated. Even then we were seated super fast. We started out with piquin fries as an appetizer, simple but they had a lil kick to them. For entree we ordered 2 chicken tacos, 2 carnitas tacos and 2 tostadas with grounded beef (recommended by the waiter). Everything was so good that we didn’t even take a picture of the food and decided to order an extra plate of tacos. Waiter was so sweet and on top of us even with a busy house. What I loved about the tacos is that they came so full of protein and toppings, it would spill out as you would eat them. For dessert we got the horchata ice cream with the churros and they really hit the spot. Everything felt so fresh and homemade. Wanna go again ❤️❤️

I accidentally ordered the wrong tacos (forgot which ones I normally get my bad), so I kindly asked the waitress if I could switch them. I was super polite and even apologized. She said she’d check with the manager, Vanessa (the owner’s daughter), and that’s when the whole vibe shifted.

Vanessa was behind the bar, visibly annoyed, and instead of handling it professionally, she started mumbling under her breath, talking to her mom and others about the situation while clearly looking in my direction. It was awkward, disrespectful, and honestly made me feel super uncomfortable like I wasn’t a valued customer anymore just because of a simple mix-up.

It sucks because I really love this place, but the energy today was off. If you’re going to be a manager, especially in your family’s business, you should know how to treat guests even when it’s inconvenient. Hope this was just a one-time slip, but it definitely changed how I feel about coming back.

After seeing the manager’s response, I want to be clear i wasn’t mad about getting the wrong order. I admitted it was my mistake and politely asked if I could switch it. What upset me was the manager’s unprofessional reaction: attitude, side comments, and passive-aggressive energy. That’s not how a loyal customer should be treated.

And as far as “not absorbing the cost” if you run a restaurant, you should expect these things to happen. That’s part of business, especially in hospitality. The fact that you chose to twist the situation instead of simply showing empathy says a lot about how you value your customers. It’s not about the tacos it’s about the way I...
