I found this place from a suggestion by a friend, but they didnt tell me much so that I could form my own opinion. Here it is.
So first thing. From entering I found out it was both a pizza place and a brewery. It had an awesome atmosphere and ornimientation that really reflected the title, Strange Beasts. That blended with both the pizza oven and some brewing machinery being in clear view, really brought a lot of character to the place.
So I walked to the counter an was quickly greeted by one of the workers, Haidar, who was extremely nice. He filled me in on what the shop was about and helped me place my order.
To the food, I ended ordering a pizza called, The Baby Godzilla. It had a spectular range of taste. One of the first things I noticed was the crust; it really had its own kinda flavor. It had a full bodied, fresh kind of taste, which makes sense because you can literally see some of the workers creating pizza dough in front of you. Outside of that I found it was a fantastic blend of spices and peppers, uniquely put together with no one thing overpowers the rest of the flavors present. The mix of the soft crust, peppers and spices all blended together like an orchestra of yummy, spiced hand made to order pizza.
Now I personally choose that pizza because Haidar had mention that it was one of the spicer pizzas, and I like a little spice. He also mentioned though that he had a local vendor who creates, and personally blends, an Asian spicy chilli oil. It was called Hungry Yokai Asian Chilli Oil, and I had to try it.
I started by shaking it to make sure I had the flakes properly suspended, an just poured it on. I made sure to eat 2 slices without it to see what i thought and compare them the pizza with and without. I found it was wonderful and really had a wide range of taste that definitely complemented the pizza extremely well. It started smooth and with a deep smoked flavor that rounded off to a vibrant spicy flavor that mixed, without overwhelming, the pizzas spices and peppers.
Overall a Hard 10/10.
Definitely looking to go again and try more of the pizza and dive into the beer selection that they also...
Read moreI absolutely love Strange Beast. Hands down one of the most unforgettable spots in Miami! This local pizza brewpub is truly in a league of its own, offering some of the most unique and imaginative pizza flavors in the entire city. Every slice feels like a creative masterpiece, bursting with bold flavor and surprising ingredients you won’t find anywhere else.
The service is top-notch. Friendly and attentive. You can tell the staff really cares about creating a great experience from the moment you walk in to the last bite of your meal.
The atmosphere is electric, thanks in no small part to the awesome live performances from Miami’s local talent. Whether it’s a laid-back acoustic set, a high-energy band, or a night of laughter with local comedians, the entertainment here adds an extra layer of magic to the night.
What really sets Strange Beast apart, though, is the incredible decor. The walls are lined with art and memorabilia paying homage to classic Japanese kaiju monster movies from vintage Godzilla posters to highly detailed King Kong murals and wonderfully strange little details tucked into every corner. It’s a love letter of 1950s monster movies.
If you’re looking to enjoy the Miami weather, don’t miss the beautiful outdoor seating area in the back. It’s the perfect chill zone to relax with a cold brew and a hot pie.
Speaking of pies… I was lucky enough to try a special limited-time pizza called the “Arturito”, celebrating both May the Fourth and Cinco de Mayo. It had Marinated steak, peppers, onions, melted cheese, fresh cilantro, a bold salsa roja, all topped with a zesty lime slice. It was the perfect fusion of flavors and a true tribute to creativity and flavor.
The only downside? Parking can be a bit limited, so plan ahead or consider rideshare if you're visiting during peak hours. But honestly, once you're inside, that minor inconvenience melts away.
Strange Beast isn’t just a pizza place—it’s a full experience. If you’re in Miami and love amazing food, local vibes, and kaiju monsters, this place is an...
Read moreThis place has absolutely disgusting customer service. Good luck getting served when you enter the restaurant. Me and my family entered the restaurant just now and no one acknowledged us. The restaurant was slow and the bartender was too busy on her phone and consuming a drink to bother to even acknowledge us. We sat at an available table and couldn't be missed - we are a family of 5 - actually 6 in total but I would never bring my other kid here. We sat there for no less than 15 minutes and didn't get any service... again.... Not even an acknowledgement. This is horrible. My wife and I were trying to make eye contact and signal someone but to no avail. Even more disturbing was that she came to clean the table next to us... and still no acknowledgment! We sat there at an empty table ready to order food - a lot of it too! We were then thinking... this place doesn't deserve our business. They had other staff there sitting around and drinking. This is a small place where anyone would get noticed and again not a single acknowledgment. The bartender and cook glanced at us several times. Lol. God forbid we want to eat or get served. We got up and left and as we were leaving I waved goodbye at them... the staff looked puzzled and waved back! Lmao... like they didn't give two craps about our business. This establishment should be avoided at all costs. We went to a different pizza place and were served. I have a big family and will tell everyone about...
