Laketown Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Kenner

A friend was in from out of town and after dinner we decided to go get a cocktail some place close to her hotel . Not that this matters but my friend is from Fl. And yes she is a republican which again should not matter . We walked in and went to the bar as the only females there , as my we were walking up my friend was discussing coming with me using the word Liberal . She never said anything disrespectful , but I am assuming this is why we were treated so rude. The girl behind the bar with dyed hair I’m not sure what color like RED or Purple can’t remember. She did not acknowledge us at all she just let us stand there like fools while she talked to other people and wait in other people . She would not even make eye contact with us at all . It’s not like she was busy . It wasn’t . I mean absolutely nothing . No hi how are you , can I help you or hey what can I get you . Nothing . After standing there which seem like 15 min I noticed the cold shoulder was on purpose . So we I told my friend let’s get out of here . I am not the kind of people who writes complaints, but this is the second time this chunky male bartender treated me in a derogatory way, I always visit the place Tuesday's nights and/or Saturday's when there is Women as Bartenders, but for some reason he was working tonight (Tuesday). 1st. He saw us sitting and let us wait, until he finished his conversation with another customers. 2nd. He took our order, but they served first a group of Girls who came later than us. 3rd. Our chicken wings have never been COLD (always hot or warm) tonight some of them were COLD. 4th. When I requested our bill, he just answered yes but never give us the check, instead he continued chatting with customers, attending new customers, and for sure he did it on purpose, so I decided to leave cash money on the bar and leave the place. I have never feel that antipathy from any of the Girls, neither the cooks who work in that place, i don't have to say this, but I always give them all nice Tips, cooks and bartender. Rating after the first visit. Went in for dinner because I've never tried the place despite driving past it literally thousands of times. Here's what I got: The place is small. One pool table and a couple poker machines. TouchTunes jukebox. Usually has a sports game or music channel playing over the speakers when the jukebox is off. The mozzarella sticks were standard fare. Not great, not horrible (for those of you who have tried the ones at the nearby bowling alley, that's my basis for the worst). Took one bite of my onion rings and knew I wasn't eating those. Would recommend never ordering them. My girlfriend's tater tots came out fine. The steaks were properly cooked. They get points for not using Italian dressing as a marinade (too many places do). The steak seasoning is simple Worcestershire sauce and Montreal steak seasoning, so if you don't like either don't order it. All in all not a bad place, but the food...
