This has always been my favorite fast food place to go, but we can't really go there anymore, since they've shut down the dining area. We use to go there all the time.
Unfortunately, we are not able to make it to Taco Tico as often as we use to, due to the peculiar hours and days in which it is open and closed. Certain days they aren't open at all, while some days out of the week, they're only open until 4 pm, and a couple of nights, they're open until 8 pm.
It's a very inconsistent schedule that's hard for the public to follow. We have made so many wasted trips all the way there, only to find its closed.
Well, I'm a die hard lover of the food here, so I'm left craving it for months on end sometimes before my schedule is in sync with theirs, where I'm able to make it there when it's actually open.
When I do finally make it to the drive thru, I am thrilled to drive off with my taste buds ready to indulge when I get back home to dig in.
However; this visit did not satisfy neither me nor my husband. The food lacked all the familiar flavors that we've loved throughout our 50 something years of our lives.
The meat had a very strange taste to it and the beans lacked everything. The food was not the same. The beans were bland, thinner and simply didn't have any taste. We added tons of sauce and even tried adding sour cream, but nothing helped. I thought something may have been wrong with my tastebuds that day, but my husband confirmed it as well and we ended up throwing the rest of our food away. I simply couldn't get over how terrible everything tasted. We were so disappointed.
I don't know if you guys changed vendors or modified your recipes, but whatever it is, please go back to what you were doing before. This was awful. My enchilada had a taste, which the best way for me to describe..... tasted like the smell of a zoo. That's the only way that I can describe it.
It was towards the end of the night, so we were hoping that maybe we just got the bottom of the batch of everything, and that this was just a fluke thing.
When you have your lifetime regulars, we know exactly how the food there should taste, as it's always been consistently awesome.
This was horrible. Please look into this and fix it. I would really hate to see you guys close down, when you've got your immense following of die hard loyal customers, who depend on you for their favorite fast food fix.
This review is not written to sabotage you, it is written to give you constructive criticism where it is desperately needed.
I hope you guys will fix what needs to be fixed and thrive way into the future, giving us many more years of the food that we can't to know and love. This is all said in love..... as I am truly truly a Taco Tico fanatic!
I also hope that you will reopen your doors for dine in once again, and bring back some normality to a post Covid era. It's been 3 and a half years and it's...
Read moreWe just left the drive thru after purchasing 2 dozen of bakers dozen of tacos from your location. One of our orders was to make those suprême.... no lettuce and tomatoes. The only thing we wanted on one dozen of those tacos was to add sour cream. Granted.... you're already saving in not having to give us lettuce and tomatoes as we ordered them without. Most places will let you know up front and tell you if there is going to be a big upcharge and offer you another way to save you money. This isn't a 5 star sit down restaurant. This is a drive thru only taco joint.
We wondered why our bill was so high, but didn't notice until we got home and looked at the receipt to see that you charged us 8.97 for sour cream. You did not tell us that it would be 9.00 extra to simply add sour cream. You could have simply charged us .69 for one order of a sour cream and we could have put the sour cream on ourselves! This is ludicrous and it's sinful that you would rip off your customers by charging them an extra .69 per taco, when you simply could have given us one order of side of sour cream for 69 cents which would have been more than enough to cover the entire dozen.
Sour cream does not cost that much and you don't use but a dollop for each taco. We could have bought a couple of quarts at the grocery store for what you charged us to add a teaspoon to each taco!
I called to complain and question this outrageous charge and the manager argued with me and wouldn't give me any kind of credit nor work with me on this. She was rude, sarcastic and hung up on me. I called back to get her name and it is Jenna Martinez! She should NOT be in management at all!
Your management along with her staff needs to be retrained in customer service and how to interact properly, treat customers and be upfront about your extra charges that you sneak in on people.
SHAME ON YOU! WHAT YOU DID IS SIMPLY...
Read moreHorrible experience!!! I come here all of the time. I should've known that they would get me as they always do anyways. Fast food workers with no recollection of the orders. I ordered 10 tacos with just meat and cheese. I get home after closing time where I couldn't bring it back and notice all 10 tacos have meat, basically no cheese and lettuce which I did not order!!! $14.00 Wasted!!! Cant get it back couldnt call because they were close. It was my mistake and theirs. My mistake because I shouldn't have went out in the first place so late. I should've ate what I had at home. I should have eaten my rib dinner and left these tacos where they were. I wont be frequenting this place as I used to and if I do by chance I'll have to check my order before I leave. All of the tacos had lettuce on them. I get that it was close to closing time. The problem is no one takes any pride in their work anymore. But I get it I would probably throw anything together as well. I...
