I travel the entire country for work, about 50 weeks a year, so I see my share of restaurants. I’ve tried every food imaginable and seen levels of service from extremely good to extremely poor. Most restaurants either have great food and poor service or great service and “yeah, I wish I didn’t go there” food. The same cannot be said about my recent visit to Zea Rotisserie & Bar...they knocked it out of the park, all the way around!
Work brought me to the New Orleans area, so I searched for restaurants near my hotel. I saw the positive ratings here and figured I would give it a try. The location was easy to find, albeit the entrance caught me off guard, since it faced the road and the parking was on the side...but nothing bad about that at all. I walked in and was greeted by a very pleasant and smiling young man. He identified me as a new patron with his, “welcome back statement” and my reply, “I’ve never been here before”. I was quickly seated and greeted by my waitress, who also thanked me for being a first time customer. I placed my food and drink order, with helpful and friendly suggestions from my waitress, and food was quickly delivered by John, a manager there. He too thanked me for stopping by, even checking on me a few times during my meal. Exceptional service and probably the best I’ve received from a restaurant anywhere in the country!
Now, the food...well that’s easy, because it was amazing! The Thai ribs fell off the bone, the lamb sirloin melted in my mouth and the corn grits...where have these been all my life?!? This was one of those meals where you are full, but you can’t stop eating because it tastes that good.
Like I said, I visit a lot of restaurants, all over the United States and hands down...I would visit this location again and again! Great job to the entire staff for the...
Read moreJoseph was by far the best waiter that I have had in my life and I am 64 years old. My son, his girlfriend, and I dined there yesterday evening and I am not proud of myself in saying that I was probably the most challenging customer Joseph has ever had and I would like to apologize to him. Joseph truly is what every person dealing with the public should be and more. I was upset before arriving and steadfast in continuing to make a statement with my dining company by staying upset and distant at the same time. Joseph tried to make things better...he tried his hardest, when a lot of wait-staff would have given up. He paid special attention and went far and beyond what most would. His actions and kindness actually made me cry and realize how horrible I had been to him and my company. He didn't know what had upset me so much to the point of not talking or barely acknowledging his efforts to make me happy, not only as a customer, but overall. However, it is obvious he cared and I didn't give one thought as to how his day was going. Things may not have been perfect in his world, but he didn't let me know it. He remained polite, courteous, and caring despite my rudeness. He saw a side of me that is rare but so unflattering and I can't apologize enough. The food looked delicious, smelled delicious, and was delicious, with the presentation being very appealing. The only thing bad that I can say about my experience at Zea is MY unreceptive, rude, distant attitude. Please give my heartfelt apologies to Joseph. I would love nothing more than to dine at Zea again with him as my waiter and be the kind of patron he deserves and return the kindness he...
