Holy cow! I really wanted to like it here and I love supporting my local Mexican businesses. At first everything seemed okay as we ordered (although slightly overpriced), but after that it was impossible to grab the waitress’s attention. We never got refills and anything we needed, such as napkins, took a long time to get. Food was okay, although my rice was soggy and a bit flavorless.
But the reason I’m writing this review is because we were the only ones in the restaurant and we waited AN HOUR to get our check because she was nowhere to be found. The waitress disappeared to the back and she was simply on her phone watching videos and scrolling through Facebook. She had previously been sitting at the bar watching videos and on Facebook.
We waited by the register for a few minutes and the lady said her and her workmate were super busy (idk why, we were the only ones there) but I could see the other lady in the back leaning against the counters also scrolling through her phone.
Food gets a 6/10 but service was awful. Apparently the other lady in the back is the owner, according to the waitress. So owner, if you read this, you should really work on ways to maintain clientele and provide service and food worth coming back for. I’m sure the nightclub is awesome, but daytime customers deserve...
Read moreMy wife and I went there at around 5pm to 6:30pm on a Saturday night and it was absolutely dead. We were literally the only customers there. The host was kind and seated us fast but the server was terrible. She had a stank face I just couldn't get over. When we were going to order we were surprised that the menu was very limited. I asked for oysters and apparently they only have them in the morning, so that was a no go. I ended up getting an order of ceviche which tasted ok. The serving was enough for 4 tostadas. My wife had the shrimp cocktail which tasted better tham the ceviche, big portion if you get the 2x. The food was good but due to a weird smell in the air it made the experience lackluster. They looked to be getting ready for a banda, but we did not stick around for that. I imagine that later on in the night it might have been filled with people who enjoy corridos and that type of music and are into the bar scene. Might come back to check it out during the night time. Maybe during the...
Read moreTerrible business. Employees locked the doors on us 50 minutes before stated closing time.
I'm new to the area and a local business owner. I have been trying new restaurants. We decided to try this restaurant on 08/01/22 and arrived at 21:10. I shattered my hip about a week ago so I'm using a walker to get around. The employees saw us getting out of the car and starting for the door. They quickly locked the doors on us and just a few minutes later the lights went off. They were hanging out by the front door talking and laughing when this happened.
Stated closing time is 22:00. Lazy employees goofing off while on the clock and running to lock they doors nearly an hour early when a disabled customer is approaching the entrance is unprofessional and unacceptable. If they worked for me I would terminate their employment immediately. I will not be back to this place ever. They lost my business. If anyone ask me, I would suggest El Chapala, it's been the best Mexican restaurant I've tried yet...
