I have been trying sushi everywhere and decided on my next place, Tokyo Sushi & Teriyaki. Came on a slow Sunday afternoon. The atmosphere was chill, few to go orders being fulfilled and about three people eating at tables. Great, I'd get pretty good service, as I expected.
Got greeted by one server and then Kelly became the official. She made my night, a prayer that no crab be touched in the making of my rolls. Least to say I was heart-warmed by her action. Never had a server do that so she definetely will be seeing me again.
Now, the food. I ordered a Tiger roll as my test to the chef and a Shrimp Crunch Roll out of curiosity. The tiger roll, other than the amazing presentation, was delightful. The sauces were a charm, only made the roll so much better. I was impressed.
Now, the Crunch Roll. They should nickname it the Shrimp Roll. I got barely any crunch but that doesn't mean it tasted bad. No, it was amazing. It was another Tiger Roll without much sauces. I was expecting far more crunch.
Will be coming back for sure. I enjoyed Kelley's service, atmosphere was chill until they started playing the modern music that I don't like but it's not my restaurant so I can't complain. God bless you Tokyo Sushi & Teriyaki, I...
Read moreI have visited over 30 different teriyaki style restaurants in Washinton. This one was clean with an American thinking of Chinese/Japanese styling poorly done. I ordered teriyaki beef and teriyaki chicken as I always do to compare to all others, so it's an apples to apples comparison.
Both dishes arrived very quickly since no one else was in the restaurant. Salad dressing was just right and tasted good, but that's where it ended. Both dishes were small portioned for price paid, rice was hard and starting to dry out. Beef and chicken were tasteless as if little to no seasoning was applied to cooking process. Sauce was the same on each meat and had a watered down flavor. The worst of all the food arrived only warm as if warmed up by a heat lamp...
Out of 30+ teriyaki house restaurants I've patonized, this one ranks in the bottom 5. Skip it for sure, find one that is Asian family owned and operated. Check the reviews very similar complaints throughout very poorly ranked. Anyone that speaks highly of this place has not had good Asian food and have come to think this Safeway deli teriyaki is great is...
Read moreDisappointing Experience at Tokyo Sushi & Teriyaki
I am a huge fan of sushi and have always enjoyed trying different styles of cuisine. Unfortunately, my recent visit to Tokyo Sushi & Teriyaki was a significant letdown.
From the moment we arrived, the service was subpar. Our waiter seemed disengaged, unresponsive, and even appeared to be under the influence, which greatly affected our dining experience. He didn't answer our questions adequately, rarely checked on us, and we had to go to him to request the check. Our drinks were never refilled, and the lack of attentiveness was frustrating.
The sushi itself was another disappointment. The rolls lacked the fresh taste and quality I’ve come to expect from sushi, making this the first time I've ever not enjoyed a sushi roll at a restaurant.
To make matters worse, the children’s food arrived cold, adding to the overall negative experience.
Overall, the lack of service and substandard food made for an unenjoyable visit to Tokyo Sushi & Teriyaki I hope they can make improvements, but as it stands, I cannot recommend...
