First and foremost, let me start by saying that First impressions mean everything to me and the first impression my friends and I got here was racist. I am white, and I was with two friends, one who is white and another who is a person of color. We walked in and went through the usual ID checking, but when my black friend had his ID checked, the bouncer thought it was a good idea to make a "joke" asking if he had any warrants. Mind you, the bouncer doesn't know my friend at all, so he assumed that my friend would also find this "joke" funny. After realizing that we didn't find his "joke" funny, he told us a story about how he would do this to people and essentially, have them mentally distorted, laughing the entire time as if what he was telling us was supposed to be funny. Clearly, the southern style bar isn't aware of how to treat people of color!!! I heavily do not recommend spending time, energy or money in this establishment!
Update: After speaking with the owner, Matt, we agreed to meet and not only put a face to a name, but to further discuss how this issue would be resolved. From the phone call that we had with the owner, the impression given was that the security guard, Joe, was already fired. Albeit, he did not say this outright, he did say that racial harassment is not tolerated. Also, the response to this review stated that it had been taken care of already and steps were put in place to ensure that something like this does not happen again.
While at the meeting today at 5:00pm 04/30/22, we found out that essentially everything that was said, was a lie, and in fact the owner stated that he presumed that joe would resign, when in fact he came back to the establishment. The manager, Tim, and the owner, Matt, felt the need to tell us how they are short-staffed and thought that perhaps Joe could be suspended for a week instead of firing him. The question that stands is, how does this comply with the zero- tolerance racial harassment policy that is a business standard in the hiring process, as well as from what Matt had spoken so strongly about?! The answer is it does not!
Matt gave us $100 gift cards and expected us to accept them along with the meeting that essentially led to nowhere except shining a light on the fact they care more about their staff shortages than the way their customers are treated. Also, it's necessary to point out that while being transferred to two different bartenders to speak with matt, the female bartenders spoke about Joe being provocative and vulgar. This goes to show that two of Matt's employees personally feel the same way about Joe and had said so when we spoke to them after the meeting. He cares more about staff shortages than his own employees as well!! All in all, I simply cannot support or give my money to Matt or Tim, who would blatantly lie to my face and promise my friend restitution and actual change to answer for the insensitive behavior of racial harassment! Racial prejudice is very real and in this new day and age more Caucasians will actually stand against...
Read moreFirst, your hours on google are all jacked up, second, why in the heck is a bar storing my data from my drivers license. A scan of my ID at the door? Pass, never be back. In response to your response. I’ve been buying alcohol every week of my life for a long time. This is the FIRST time anyone has asked to scan my PERSONAL information and store the data to buy alcohol. Walmart, Pick-n-save, Festival foods, woodmans, Brat Stop, etc, etc, all great businesses that serve alcohol to me. Scanning a barcode is NOT THE SAME as storing a photo of my license. Whoever you are on the other end replying, YOU ARE LYING when you say industry standard. There is NOTHING standard or practiced in your industry that involves scanning and storing someone’s drivers license for a drink. I don’t recommend anyone submit to this...
Read moreI’ve had good experiences here before but what I found yesterday actually scared me. My fiancé and I were going to go for a benefit last night and the person who took our cover money insisted we could not get into the venue without “scanning” our Id/driver’s license. When I questioned this he showed me hundreds of names of id’s they had stored on this iPad/tablet type thing. My heart sank. Every one of those people are open to identify theft. Not only that, robbery. 1. You are known to not be home. 2. They know your address. We refused for them to KEEP our id’s in a picture form, took the money back we wanted to donate by attending, and left. If anyone cares at all about their financials, they would...
