English:
I am writing this review because I have been a regular customer at this place, and while their food is good, their customer service—at least over the phone—is terrible.
I recently placed a large order over the phone for my entire family plus visitors. I made a specific request for some of the boxes to have names on them, and while some did, others did not. Because of this inconsistency, I called back to ask for clarification. A young gentleman answered, and I explained that if they are going to put names on some orders, they should finish labeling all of them. This is important so customers don’t have to guess, especially since some people have dietary restrictions or allergies. The lack of proper labeling could even lead to a dangerous situation—some tacos look very similar, and a mistake could cause someone serious harm or even death.
Instead of addressing my concern professionally, the employee was extremely rude. He told me that if customers want names on their orders, they need to specifically request it. This response makes no sense, considering that some of the orders already had names while others did not. Unfortunately, due to this inconsistency, one of our guests accidentally ate the wrong taco, which they were allergic to, and ended up throwing up.
Not only was the employee unprofessional, but he also had no courtesy to even try to help identify the orders. Instead, he rudely hung up the phone and did nothing to assist.
I will be posting this review on Google for both locations, and I sincerely hope that they make changes to their system. Employees should not be arguing with customers who are simply asking for help.
Read moreYou can’t find tacos like these anywhere else in the entire east coast. You simply cannot, and even if you try, you will not.
They have a wide variety of foods too, not just tacos. Their pozole is also pretty good, and they have tostadas you can always customize. Somewhat wide selection of drinks. Pretty clean restaurant too!
Ever since I found out they had an actual building in Kensington out of all neighborhoods, I knew I had to go. I used to walk over to their food truck during a rough spot in my life and there was nothing else to comfort me but their amazing food at the time. That’s a lot of weight to put on a restaurant, and Don Perez couldn’t have held it up better.
The food over here is absolutely amazing, and full of flavor. I’ve tried out many taco restaurants in my life and none of them can possibly compare to these. I would literally travel continents if it meant that at the end of that road I can get some of...
Read moreBy far the best Mexican cuisine that's authentic to Mexico and SoCal. Many places around here are good and I don't mind El Salvadorian cuisine, but it's not Mexican. The real kicker is the Pozole, it's the real deal and hand crafted delicious. The Birria Tacos are also fantastic, probably some of the best ever especially when diving them into the consommé. The basic cheese quesadilla is also on point and well worth the calories.
The restaurant is clean, but small, so takeout for a party larger than 4 is what I would recommend. However, eat your pozole in-house, it's not the same when you do takeout.
One takeaway about ordering that does not change my review in any way is how they do online ordering, sometimes it works and other times it doesn't.
I hope they open more locations throughout our area. They are definitely the best in Mexican...
