I am a HUGE snob when it comes to (American) chinese food! Here is a very long review of my first ordering experience at Full House:
I placed my order via their website at 6:15pm, food arrived at 7:00pm (within 45 minutes). Everything was packaged very carefully and still hot (I live ~3 miles from the restaurant).
I ordered two different "dinners" because fatty indecisiveness. Here's my review of everything I tried:
Orange Peel Chicken - full of flavor, large serving size, high quality of meat (no cartilage or bones). Highly competitive with other vendors. I recommend removing the the blackened orange peel that comes in the dish. This is advertised as spicy, but was not nearly as spicy as I wanted, and so I will ask for EXTRA EXTRA SPICY next time. It was still a great dish.
Vegetable Chow Mein - carrots, celery, onion, green pepper, and thick chow mein noodles. Not overly greasy, delicate flavor, enough veggies to not feel super guilty about eating it.
Eggrolls - what I was delivered seemed more like spring rolls than eggrolls, so I'm not sure if this was a mistake on the kitchens part. These were smaller than traditional eggrolls with a thin, delicate, crispy outside, and a soft veggie inside. Perfect texture and flavor for spring rolls... I wasn't disappointed, though it makes me curious (if this was a mistake), what their eggrolls are actually like. Regardless, spring rolls or eggrolls, these were good!
Crab Ragoon - better than average for the area. I've had the best crab ragoon ever known to man back when I lived in Chicago, so the bar is pretty high. That said - they use cream cheese with imitation crab like most places in the area, and they just don't stuff the ragoon as full as I would like. However, what sets this place apart is that the preparation and flavor were both on point, and you won't be disappointed if you order them. Will buy again.
Fried rice - served with slice of chicken breast on top, nothing special here. Chicken, carrots, peas, basic but good. LIttle bit greasy (more so than the chow mein), but hey, this is fried rice we're talking about, good flavor, needed some soy sauce.
White rice - also served with slices of chicken breast on top, fluffy, not dry or under/over cooked. Noteably better with the orange peel chicken dish than the chow mein or the fried rice, probably because of the intense flavor of the orange peel chicken dish.
Hot and Sour Soup - this is one of my favorite things to order in the winter so I am always looking for a place that makes legit hot and sour. You should add just a touch of soy sauce for salt, but it is otherwise absolutely perfect and full of flavor. Not too heavy on the mushrooms, which some will appreciate, has a low-medium spicy profile (like a 3/10). I am a huge fan of this dish and highly recommend it!
Egg Drop Soup - this has a delicate flavor and is made relatively thick, though not gelatinous. It's very plain, the kind of soup you could serve to your grandmother and she probably would not complain. Good amount of veggies, egg,...
Read moreI was excited to try a new Chinese restaurant but we were shocked at how bad the food looked when we received it.
Food was so subpar, greasy, over cooked and the pork meat was cold as the concrete in my garage.
The dreadful, inexplicable Chicken Chop Suey/ Chicken Chow Mien (yes, same dish) was dead pale, no flavor and cold. This is their version of chow mein, as far as I could tell was canned bean sprouts with a smattering of canned mushrooms (if it was mushrooms) and some small ghost white chicken. The entire dish was an unrelenting grey and the sauce looked congealed!
The fried shrimp had so much grease I could use it for my car. The bbq ribs were small pieces of bone (some of which were so dry they disintegrated in your mouth while eating) with small bits of dried burnt tire like meat was not even eatable, it reminded me of dog treats and the dog treats would have tasted better. I ordered 6 dishes and 2 cokes and was charged over $75- not worth it at all. I rather eat road kill in Arizona. Everything we ordered has lack of flavor and just not worth the price. Overall experience was frustrating; I should have gone and spend my money somewhere else. Panda Express would have been much better and more affordable. It was the worst Chinese food and restaurant that we ever been.
If you like steamed meat and veggies with no flavor or seasoning this is your place.
There Chef has no idea of what Chinese cuisine is supposed to taste like. It is overpriced for a local eatery and I strongly recommend that if you have any idea of half decent food, you will be...
Read moreI just tried out this restaurant today, and I will admit I was very pleasantly surprised that this was the first time that I've eaten here I wouldn't have known about this place if it wasn't for Facebook, so thank you Facebook now about the restaurant on the outside it really don't look like much and it is kind of hard to even know it's there because it's a little ways off the main road But once you go inside, and you go to the seating area, it's very spacious and clean and it faces a golf course. It has a lounge with A patio outside now about the food. The prices are very very reasonable priced and the portion size is all I can say is OMG wow lotta food the quality of the food well delicious very good tasting granted this is American version of Chinese food but you won't be disappointed. The staff well very friendly treat you like family I feel like they invited me into their house as a guest. Of course I'm a paying guest. But that's fine. If you haven't tried this place out yet you should you shouldn't be disappointed from the quality of the food to the prices. The great service is why I give this place five stars I know this review is quite long, but hopefully it helps. Someone makes a decision and they're happy with their choice. Thank you for taking the time to read this. By the way, I am no way related to the owner of this place, and I did not receive anything in return for my review, other than I just wanted to share the enjoyment...
