North Water Brewing Company — Restaurant in Kent

Situated at the nexus of the Crain/Lake/Water neighborhood in a former automobile body shop, the renovation of which is nothing short of spectacular, this wonderful new place is an absolute must stop for the craft beer aficionado. The atmosphere is intimate, the decor is warm and inviting, the staff are friendly and welcoming and like to get to know you by name if you’re a regular there, and it’s kind of our version of “Cheers”, a place where everyone knows your name. We have needed a neighborhood craft brewpub for absolutely ever, and now we have a place that is making our old neighborhood the hottest place in town to live. Numerous vacant homes in this neighborhood are being purchased, renovated and occupied now, and people are flocking to this area to call “home”. Having a craft brewpub here has been just the thing we needed to bring people back to this neighborhood and to have a great place to gather and relax, have a delicious craft brew and, if a food truck happens to be present, some delicious food to eat in addition to a great craft beer.

This pub was the answer to our prayers, and how lucky are we that we now have this absolutely fantastic pub right in our neighborhood where so many fun activities are offered, from Trivia Night to Run Club to yoga to local singers performing to activities offered by the Portage Parks District like Yappy Hour where you can bring your dogs to the patio to much much more. North Water Brewing is my new favorite hangout spot. It’s the best thing to happen to this neighborhood in years. As a Kent State alumni, when I heard Kent was getting a brewery, I couldn't wait for their doors to open! A few weeks after opening day, my wife, 2 year old son and I came in to the brewery! I was blown away by the atmosphere, the staff, the cleanliness AND most importantly, the beer. Amazing beer! I've been to brewery's all across the country and their beer stacks up with the rest of them. Their staples are solid and they also offer unique variations and flavors.

Was impressed by their accommodations for families. Their restrooms were extremely fresh and clean complete with a family restroom with a baby changing table.

We walked into this place and it was pretty empty, there were two people at one end of the bar and one woman sitting at the other end. The bar tender was talking to the woman and totally ignored us for the entire ten minutes we stood there waiting to see if we were going to be seated or told to just seta ourselves. he looked right at me a few times but never said a word. there were only two tables with people at them so the place was very empty. After being ignored for a while I just turned around and left. This place is a piss hole and I will give it two thumbs down to everyone I talk to about it. They obviously have no idea how to...
