Me and my husband wanted some tasty Chinese today so we sat at V garden. The customer service was ok! We were not greeted when we walked in at all til we walked towards a table then we were greeted. Our table did not have condiments which every table had we had to ask for it after our food came. I ordered salt and pepper prawns expecting it to be yummy and also I ordered shrimp fried rice, my husband had sweet and sour chicken with pineapples. When my husbands order came with just my shrimp fried rice order it was yummy. In the middle of eating my fried prawns came out and my husband tried one first and his reaction wasn’t good so I tried one myself and I am a seafood lover and to my surprise those were not yummy at all. Kindly I told my waitress and her assistant that we don’t like the taste and they were very nasty with response as if I was supposed to like it regardless but we kept explaining the taste was not good and the waitress kept telling me it’s what you ordered. She then went back to ask her manager and she came back and said there’s nothing we could do you ordered this. I was very shocked but I realized they were money hungry and it turned me off. I don’t think it is right to make someone pay for something that didn’t taste well and I am also pregnant so I will never...
Read moreLast night at 7:45, my family of four—with two very hungry kids—was waiting in line for a table. There was only one lady ahead of us, a two-person group, and we were quietly waiting our turn. Then out of nowhere, a woman cut right in front of me. The server, instead of correcting her, cheerfully asked how many were in her dinner .When she said five, the server with the straight-across bangs immediately seated them at a round table that had just been cleared.
I tried waving to get the server’s attention, but she totally ignored me. Another server even spoke up, saying, “Wasn’t that a table for four?” But the bangs server acted like she didn’t hear—letting that group jump the line, right in front of everyone.
I was just stunned. Even the guest waiting for the two-top was so upset she was about to go argue with the staff—I had to stop her. And you know why this happened, right? It’s because we had two kids. We’d probably order less, spend less… while a table of five adults means a bigger bill.
You know what? Forget this. I lost all interest in eating there. So I left and went to a...
Read moreThis place brought back memories of Chengdu, China. Prompt service and friendly. We got seated immediately, even though the business was busy. They gave us ample time to study the menu, then asked if we had questions
I asked the waitress for suggestions and the recommendation was roasted duck, and beef chow fun. We added honey walnut shrimp and garlic baby bok choy.
The duck was roasted to perfection and the sauce poured over it was sweet and savory. The only thing I would complain about is that it lacked meat; must have been a small duck. There was more bone than meat.
The beef chow fun was a bouncy delight; noodle and bean sprouts were cooked perfectly. Accompanying beef was savory and generous.
Honey walnut shrimp cooked sweet and tasty and brought to the table as if it was still cooking table side. Walnut was crispy and toasted, oh so perfectly.
Garlic baby bok choy was a tad bit overcooked and watery. It was bland and soggy.
I will definitely be back for the...
