Mia and More Sugarcane Juice and Streetfoods in Kent, WA, is a delightful spot located in a mall right next to 99 Ranch Market. Parking is free, but it can get crowded, especially during peak shopping times. The restaurant has a few small, Vietnamese-style tables, perfect for those wanting to enjoy street food on the spot. However, most customers grab a sugarcane juice to go or sip on it while shopping in the nearby market.
One of the highlights is their multiple locations across Washington, so if you're craving sugarcane juice, you can try it at any of their branches. But if you're looking to experience authentic Vietnamese street food, this particular Kent location is a must-visit. We come here often, not just for the drinks but for the surprisingly diverse range of street food offerings. They serve everything from Bo Bia (spring rolls with jicama and shrimp) to Bun Dau Mam Tom (noodles with tofu, shrimp paste, and pork), and even Hot Vit Lon (balut).
The Bun Dau Mam Tom is fantastic, especially the crispy hot tofu paired with the flavorful shrimp paste—it’s just like being back in Vietnam. I was thrilled to find Bo Bia here, a nostalgic dish from my childhood, and the flavor took me right back to those memories. The Hot Vit Lon Rang Me (balut with tamarind sauce) is the perfect way to round out a meal with its tangy and savory combination.
Prices are very affordable, and the food is prepared quickly, making it an ideal stop for a quick bite or takeout. If you're feeling adventurous and want to explore a variety of Vietnamese street foods without the long flight to Vietnam, I highly recommend checking out Mia and...
Read moreSept 2022 Would definitely recommend the sugarcane juice here! Contrary to what you may believe, fresh pressed sugarcane juice is not overly sweet and very refreshing. As a note, they charge extra for less (+$1) or no ice (+$2) for the sugarcane juice (ONLY the sugarcane juice series, not any other drinks). I'm guessing this is because they add more juice when there's less ice. For someone from the DC area, the amount of juice for the price is amazing at full ice, and decent with no ice.
We also got the taro milk tea, which was VERY good with a strong taro flavor. Definitely recommend. Will definitely try out some of their other flavors another day. Note that this place only has one size cup.
The staff were friendly and efficient, and decently quick to get out orders. There is a dining area to the side, and they actually deliver dine-in food orders to the side of the counter closest to the dining area. Drink orders are picked up by the cashier area. This place is pretty popular, especially for drinks, so be aware there...
Read moreThis place charges extra if you ask for half ice or no ice. And if you do get ice, they fill almost the entire cup with ice so the amount of sugar cane juice you get is very minimal. I ordered a drink here and after 2-3 sips, there wasn’t much left. No other bubble tea place that I’ve been to charge you extra for reduced ice. And their closest competitor, Natalie’s, do not charge extra for half or no ice either. This type of nickel-and-dime business operation puts such a sour taste in my mouth. The two stars is because I like their tofu desserts.
Edit 3/28: It’s confirmed that this location and Natalie’s are owned by the same people. Natalie’s also charges extra for half or no ice. However, I don’t think they’re consistent with implementation because I’ve asked for half ice a few times and depends on who rings you up they will charge or don’t. I’ve updated this review to 3 stars. I just wish they don’t...
