GOOD FOOD BUT NOT ASIAN FOOD HERE..... READ TO KNOW WHY.
This review is based solely on my experience and personal opinion:
We went to the New Asia restaurant on a Wednesday night, 10/27/21 and it was our first time.
FOOD: We ordered "Curry Chicken and Vegetable Delight + Tofu". CURRY CHICKEN= Curry Chicken was good, made with good ingredients (but NOWHERE close to the flavor of a good Curry Chicken). The food was just bland, almost flavorless. You could barely taste the Curry, which usually is the main flavor (but when the cook is not Asian or is not a seasoned cook, they do not know how much Curry goes into the meal). The chicken was a little bit dry, almost as if it was precooked and then added to the recipe. flavorless. VEGETABLE DELIGHT + TOFU= This meal had no character whatsoever. Literally flavorless. It did not have a garlic or onion flavor, it did not have a soy sauce flavor... just bland. You could taste the vegetables and Tofu once you were chewing them, but that's about it. Both me and my friend ended up tossing tons of the Soy Sauce and Tons of the Spicy sauce we had available on our table.
NOTE: Both plates came with rice... but as you can see in the photos, NOT ONLY the portion of rice they give you is RIDICOLOUSLY SMALL, but it is NOT JASMINE RICE or LONG-GRAIN THAI RICE... none of that. I asked and both the waiter and the owner said they were serving short-grain rice only!! what a bummer!!!
DRINK: I ordered a hot Jasmine tea, they said they did not have it, but they told me they had green tea instead. NOW, I want you to look at my photos and tell me if that looks like GREEN TEA to you..... LOL, 100% black tea in color AND flavor.
STAFF: our Waiter was nice, but very inexperienced, especially in ethnic food. He was nice and friendly. One thing that annoyed us about the guy is that each of his random advices ended with a gentle upsell. The one that was neither friendly nor nice was the owner. she was super dry and rude. I would ask a question to the waiter and she would answer from all the way across the restaurant. Very unpleasant person.
CLEANLINESS: The floor was dirty, especially under the table. Our table was clean but still wet.
RESTROOMS: were nice and clean and have a very modern/minimalist look. nice. They have hand soap, paper towels, toilet paper and hot water.
PLACE: nice, pretty spacious, I loved the Décor in general and I liked the comfy private boots alot. Now, the place is kinda oddly designed.... you have the big counter at the entrance and in between you and the counter there is a wooden structure.... odd.
CONCLUSIONS: I wouldn't go back, especially considering how rude the...
Read moreNormally i recommend this restaurant. But today's experience was not enjoyable. After coming to the restaurant several times i have figured out how i like my food spiced. I ordered the food exactly as i wanted and the waitress decided to change it and make it more spicy than ordered. She brought food to table and proudly stated she had added an extra x to the spiciness of the dish going from XX to XXX and that is actually a big difference. First bite seemed ok but on subsequent bites it was abvious it wasn't as ordered. On checkout was asked how was things and i told them it would have been great if waitress hadn't taken it upon herself to boost the spiciness of my order. The response? Oh was it too spicy? Perhaps we should get a fire extinguisher and laughter.
This is incredibly disappointing behavior by both the waitress and the 2 people checking people out. Shame on you New Asia for this behavior.
Update Recently placed delivery orders from work on previous two orders they leftnout the soup i ordered. On last order they askef if i wanted then to deliver my soup they forgot about 1.5hrs later and i said no. They had left anothers order off delivery completely and the owner decided to send the 2 forgotten soups back with othet persons meal and they had no idea what they were for. So they sat uneaten (remember i had said not to send) went to eat lunch instore today talked to them about soups sent anyway with no one knowing about them and no one eats multiple soups. Owner refused to reimburse for soups left out stating it didnt matter that i didnt get the soups, he sent them so tough.
That is horrible customer relations. Time to cross them...
Read moreI had a craving for Chinese food the other day, so I went about 45 minutes out of my way to get food from Kings wok. In Anna, Illinois Their food is excellent but unfortunately my dog had ate it when I got up to get something to drink. So today I was in Paducah at the vet and still had a craving for Chinese food. I went to one by Walmart on Hinkleville Road and walked up to the place and it had a C rating on the door so I walked away and so I looked at this place (which does have an a rating on the window )and went to it today. I got sweet-and-sour chicken orange chicken crab Rangoon and potstickers. I thought this would last me for the whole weekend cost me over $50. I got home to eat it and the portions are so small I could not even believe it. I have never in my life seen portions this teeny tiny. so I sat down to eat it and the sweet-and-sour chicken had pineapple in it, which is normal, but the pineapple was just off. The whole sweet-and-sour chicken just did not taste right. The crab Rangoon is stale, and the sweet-and-sour sauce that it comes with taste like fish sauce. It is not your normal red sauce that comes with crab Rangoon I have never in my life tasted such a ratchet sauce I have not even tasted the orange chicken, yet. It just does not look appetizing. I guess I’ll be going back to the kings walk to get more Chinese food this time the dog is going in the bedroom while I eat. Still craving some good Chinese food. But that being said, the girl that checked me out was so sweet she needs to go to another place where she will be appreciate it. I will never go back to this...
