My wife and I stopped in after a day hiking on a Sunday evening. Staff was friendly from the start. We ordered boneless, southern fried, and hickory smoked wings. We also got an order of pickle chips and potato wedges. We figured it would be similar to BWW and sizes would be small..wrong! Pickle chips came out first and the serving was enormous like a full meal alone! We ate maybe a third knowing we had full meals ahead of us. Wings came out shortly after and they were even more impressive. I went with bourbon BBQ hot on my smoked and traditional Buffalo on the southern fried. I really like that you can choose the heat level for all flavors and it's not a set heat big props for that. The smoked wings were great and the sauce was perfect from the flavor to the heat level. I like a hotter sauce and I could feel my lips tingling. The southern fried was a nice touch to a traditional wing. The batter was crispy and had a great flavor. The Buffalo sauce was really really good again with a good level of heat. I can't emphasize enough the wing sizes are big. We ended up with 2 to go boxes. I wish I would've looked at peoples plates on the way in but I can't complain about good leftovers! If you're a wing person this is a place I'd recommend. The place was also really clean. We sat ok the patio and had the room to ourselves. Beer was also nice and cold and tasted great after sweating all day. Staff was quick to tend to us and checked in on us enough to make sure...
Read moreMy family dined at this establishment today. We were so disappointed. Here are the reasons why: We waited 15 minutes to get a drink order taken, even though we were seated immediately in a section about one quarter full of diners that had finished their lunch. We arrived about 1:10 pm. The drinks came 12 minutes later. Two tables of diners were seated after we arrived in our section. One table arrived after we ordered our drinks. Both of those tables received their meals before us. My mother’s grilled chicken fingers were battered and fried and so tough she couldn’t chew it. The grilled replacement came well after everyone else finished their meals. My cheeseburger toasted bun was soggy on the bottom. It was served on a cold plate and both the burger and onion rings were cold. My daughter could not eat her salad because the buffalo sauce was so strong of vinegar it ruined the entire thing. My father could not finish his bbq sandwich because the vinegar was so strong. After asking for a single small box for the grilled chicken and the check, we waited another 14 minutes for the server to return for payment. At no time did anyone ask if our meal was good, despite the huge amount of discarded food. No discount was applied either.
Somerset is a small town. We will not be returning. We will not be recommending this establishment. In fact, we will advise friends and family to avoid...
Read moreI traveled to Somerset late on a Friday evening and had driven about 200 miles. It was a little after 10pm and most places were closed except for fast food and this place, Wings and Rings, that was in front of my hotel. The place was packed and had live music which was a mellow, modern country but was good. I had the Ghost Pepper Ranch Burger and Boneless Wings with Blueberry Chipotle BBQ, Korean BBQ and Sweet Habanero Sauce. These were homemade and were beer battered, almost chicken tender-like wings. They were the same type of beer batter that you would fry fish in. Some of the best I have ever had!!! The burger had pepper jack cheese, cilantro, sliced avocado, pickles and the house-made Ghost Pepper Ranch Sauce. It was all amazing. I am so satisfied, usually at 10pm on Friday night, you can't expect much, but this restaurant in Somerset, KY made my night. The service was excellent and the server was very friendly with the classic Kentucky southern hospitality. Excellent in every...
