Where do I begin? This is definitely a refreshing, flavor packed and original restaurant! The menu comprises of Asian cuisines and have influences from different cultures such as Laos, Thai, and Vietnamese. You might think that since its different spectrum that it would be difficult to perfect and capture the essence of flavors. BUT, the different spectrum is all connected one way or another and thats what makes the food here LEGIT. Warning, this is what actual Asian food taste like so be ready for the flavors and freshness that comes with it. The wings here are next level tasty, the drunken noodles was impressive and full of flavors and textures. I will be back to update on more items I try and get, my focus is on the Pho soup that will be coming later. Pho if done right and combined with the success of the other dishes offered here will solidify this establishment for a really long time. Authentic, Fresh, Tasty, Original, and Plentiful. UPDATE 12/27/2019 After constantly eating here and today placing an order of Beef Pho soup and Soy Garlic wings with rice, This place has hands down kept me full, kept my mouth flavored, impressed me still to this day, and has solidify themselves as a true asian cuisine establishment for Kernersville. Congrats Kvegas, you guys just got a legit taste in your town!

Updated Review: I used to love this place. I even came back after they had cleared themselves of a roach issue. However, it’s not worth it anymore. The food isn’t as good quality as it once was, particularly the steak, the service is absolutely terrible and SO slow - I actually watched a customer leave after waiting for her food for 20 minutes on her lunch break. And, after finishing his plate, my boyfriend found a hair in his food. We loved what Yoshi used to be, but unfortunately it’s time to move on. Super good hibachi and great customer service!! The chicken is the perfect texture and the shrimp is cooked to a tee. I also enjoy the variety of veggies given and the portion size is great. My boyfriend let the man (maybe owner?) at the counter know that I was hormonal and would’ve lost it without fried rice, since they were closing shortly and didn’t have any, and he happily made us fresh fried rice. He also gave us complimentary spring rolls, lots of sauces and a discount. We will be back for sure.

Overall not bad. The staff was pleasant and prompt, and the food was good. It loses a star because of two things: 1. There were some hard "rock-like" things in my wife's shrimp fried rice (see photo). We didn't discover it until she bit down on it, and whatever those are, they are NOT peppercorns or another spice they're definitely rocky or metallic. Biting down on them might have damaged my wife's filling. We won't know until she can get in to see the doctor. Hopefully not. 2. The oder was not complete. It was a small deficit, but the restaurant did not provide a requested sauce which normally goes with the dish. Other than that, I would grade this place "satisfactory". Would probably give them another if we're near that area and we're assured that there will be no more "rocks" in the food.

I am extremely disappointed in this restaurant after always being treated well. I arrived at Yoshi Express tonight to order steak and chicken hibachi. I was told it would be 15 minutes, but of course I know sometimes orders take longer. Not a problem! However, about 5 minutes after I ordered, about 10 people walked in WITH NO MASKS ON (even though it CLEARLY states that masks are required) and they each ordered and sat down to eat. 20 minutes passed and I noticed that the people sitting were being served. The whole table was served and some of them ordered the exact same thing that I ordered because I heard the manager call off the names of the entrees. Why was I still waiting?! Here is the kicker, even after the entire table was served I still was not given any indication that my food was ready. I decided to get up out of my seat and wait for others to order in front of me before I could finally speak with the cashier. She said your name is Mia right? I said yes and then she proceeds to pull a bag from the counter and hand to me. I demanded my money back because it is ridiculous that an entire table of folks were able to be seated and served before anyone thought to even look my way. The most insulting thing about it all was that the manager had the nerve to tell me that I couldn't get any refunds in the future on food. He said all this to say that I was sitting there waiting on a free meal which I do not need because I get up every morning to go to work like anyone else. I told him not to worry about that ever happening again because I will NEVER set foot in this establishment again! 35 TO 40 MINUTE WAIT ON SOME FOOD THAT WAS CASUALLY handed to me after tripping over yourselves to serve others is not acceptable. I'll take my money somewhere else. I guess I was the wrong color. Black money isn't...

The first time I had Yoshi Express, I ordered the Banh Mi and loved it. I have ordered it several times since and it's always hit or miss. One time there was hardly any meat and veggies and it was mostly bread. Also, there are several menus posted all over the internet. Their latest menu posted on Facebook says the Banh Mi is $11. I placed a take out order the other day and was surprised they are now charging $18 for a small sandwich compared to any other take out sandwich shop that would charge no more than $10 for twice the size of this. The meat this time was definitely not filet minon as advertised. The meat was tough and the marinade was off putting. It looked like dirt/mud water. I want to have the same experience as the first time I tried it, but there is always something off. The Yoshi chips were inedible on my last visit as they weren't fried long enough and I couldn't even bite into them as they were chewy, rather than crispy. The spring rolls were good, but the sauce was super oily this time. Last time we placed an order over the phone and my husband went to pick it up only to find out our order was never made, so he waited over 45 mins for subpar food. Once again, I can't trust that what I order will be the same every time. If they are going to charge over $18 for a sandwich, they should consider their competition and aim to make consistently good food and have clearly advertised pricing instead of 8 different menus out there all with different pricing. Unfortunately, they have lost my business and I will go elsewhere where I trust what I am getting and know it's going to be good every...

Definitely a "two-fer" experience for us - a first and last. My teenage son LOVES sushi, so we were excited to try this place not far from us. We arrived to an empty restaurant with one employee. He was polite and let us know he would be with us soon. The restaurant was clean, which was nice, but very barren and only a few small tables. After we ordered, several other people came in for take-out orders, which made me feel better about the promise of the food. All our food came out after about 25 minutes (a long wait for a restaurant of this style, but we were patient and understanding as there was only one staff member there until about 5 minutes before we got our food) and it is safe to say our tempura green beans were the best out of everything we got. My son's two sushi rolls looked absolutely dry - like parched, arid sushi. His shrimp tempura roll was literally only unseasoned fried shrimp (he unrolled one piece to try just the shrimp), rice, and nori, while the California roll was "better, but not good." The rolls were very small in size. He usually easily finishes all but two to three pieces of much larger rolls from other restaurants and he left probably 75% of his food behind on this trip. I ordered chicken pad thai and it was the dryest pad thai I have ever gotten. I really am not sure there was any sauce on the noodles - both appearance wise and flavor wise. Was it the worst food we've ever had? No. Was it worth the nearly $50 for dinner? Not at all. We'll spend a little more and drive farther for better quality food next time we're looking for...
