I was just at your restaurant Captain Tom’s in Kernersville NC. We got up from our table @ 5:55pm after paying our awesome waitress heading to front when my 80 yr old elderly father seen the cakes and wanted to buy and take a pc home. So then I proceeded to tell the 3 young girls what he was wanting so they could get it out and I asked which one of you do I pay for 2 cake slices. She looked at me stupid and said my waitress. I said wait a minute you mean to tell me yall 3 are standing up here doing nothing but flapping yalls jaws cus no customers came in during what transpired during this situation. I asked not any of the 3 of you can’t handle taking care of that cake fridge while yall are just flapping yalls jaws cus gums and again no customers came in during this situation. Well your so called manager came out and was rude asking what the problem was so I said well after standing here since 6:09pm of about 10mins or so only to be called a liar by your said manager. Then the fabulous waitress we had came up seeing what was wrong and I proceeded to say to said manager who I would def fire if she was my employee and thank god she ain’t along with those 3 front girls. But I said where your rude manager and your inability 3 front girls don’t know anything but that cake fridge should be part of their duties as they are just standing around while these awesome waiters and waitresses are busting their asses and yall ain’t. I don’t appreciate being called a liar by an incompetent if what you call a manager that does that to customers knowing good and well this whole situation was well over 10mins of her calling me a liar. I praise you waiter’s and waitresses 100% and they don’t have the time to come up to front when someone is leaving and the. Decides they want to take a pc of cake home and yea yall front check lazy 3 young girls clearly can if they was just standing talking to one another while the real workers was busting their butts for their customers. I feel yall need to revamp that job at front and if a paying customer comes up and wants cake then those front check in girls should clearly be doing that part at least instead of getting yalls busy wait staff to leave eat in customers to handle what that front desk should handle. I’m appalled by what that manager called me a liar and didn’t set well at all and I’m gonna make it publicly known cus I’m at point of not returning. Someone needs to get a handle on yalls manager team and front staffers as well. By the time I left it was about 6:09-6:10pm. So yeah I know how long I stood up there talking about this situation only to be called a liar and the proof of time on my receipt and me leaving as she kept calling me a liar and her saying good bye. It didn’t set well with me and I almost went back in there to have the owner called in. Yall need to do something about all that cus as people were leaving as this situation was going on customers were saying to your manager that they agree with me as it’s not hard to do at all and not make yalls wait staff whom are busy have to do it when they can clearly do it and SO CAN MANAGEMENT. Read moreA 30-minute drive to receive extremely poor customer service from the waitress name "Britt" and our food was horrible. I wish I could give my rating zero stars, but I unfortunately I can't. I specifically ordered my fish cooked with salt and pepper batter. Britt brought me and my husband's order out informing me that "we are out of the salt and pepper batter." She was nonchalant and quickly walked away. We did not have time to ask for any condiments. We waited nearly 10 minutes, and finally asked another waitress for condiments. Britt came back, and I told her had I known I was not able to get what I ordered. I would have ordered something else, but she did not give me that opportunity. Therefore, I had to eat only a portion of the meal I ordered, because it was not what I ordered. It was not filling due to like most places significantly small portions. The food tasted like it had been sitting for a long time and was reheated. We came in at 9:15 pm, due to my husband spending the day with his family from losing a family member. My husband said they gave us what they had, but to me what they had was $45 and a 30-minute drive which was not good enough. This will undoubtedly be the last time we visit here. Read moreUPDATE ON REVIEW. My family visited in April of 2024 and found that the establishment was completely well staffed and managed well. Service, food, and professionalism was great with all customer servicers. Food was well prepared and staff did an outstanding job in taking care of the tables and customer's needs. The prior visit in 2022 had found that it was so poorly staffed that it affected everything. I am happy to say, that the establishment is redeemed itself and would highly recommend visiting this restaurant. ------- Read below for prior review but disregard it as it is not relevant today.----------------------
PRIOR REVIEW WAS BAD: Just went last night, 3/6/2022. Help wanted sign still on the front window so assumed they were short staff, however no excuse for unprofessional and rude behavoir. Host was rude and obnoxious( younger one). Waitress had to be asked to give us napkins, and to take the dishes as well as refills. She overcharged me for one of the meals. "Oh, didnt you order the oysters?" She asked, "No I ordered the three choice items on the menu". She took the order, so she knew what we ordered and still overcharged for the plate. She did fix the charge before we paid. Recommend management have a talk to hostess on greeting customers and wait staff on overcharging. Even though the host wore a mask, her rolling her eyes and body language said it all. The other host (the older and probably more experienced one) was very polite. We won't be coming back...
