First let me say that the lady of this restaurant does a wonderful job. The husband is awful. I ordered the hibachi chicken. I wanted to support the small business so I left the Sonic drive thru and came to Lin's Kitchen. I looked into the dining area and didn't see any food. Cool! I was looking in on the menu. I was unable to find what I was looking for so when I asked the gentleman in the front he looked at me like I needed to ordered. I ordered the hibachi chicken and I asked him does he make ginger sauce? He laughed and said No! I asked for 3 small white sauces. He told the employee only 1. I was cool with that. I told him that I wanted 2 sauces which I thought was the small sauces. Most restaurants charge 50 cents but I am cool with it. I paid him 1.50 for each sauce. Food seemed hot, so I when get home to eat the food looked good. I tasted it and instantly thought this has a different flavor. I have never had hibachi chicken with bell peppers. I continue to taste this dish and thought that the meat was either from a different part of the chicken or is this even chicken at all? Lin's Kitchen is a Chinese restaurant. I ordered the dish because it said new features. I can not prove if they are using anything besides chicken. I am saying that it had a funny taste. I am a cook myself, this meat was cut unusual than your traditional hibachi chicken. Normally you get white meat, I know for a fact that this was either legs or something. In conclusion, I will say the restaurant use to be good when it was in a smaller phase. Customer service is awful and using cheap meat will eventually ruin everything. I wouldn't...
Read moreI wanted LoMein this past Monday. My favorite Chinese restaurant is closed on Monday. The next closest to me is cash only (?!) so I used Yelp to find Chinese, near me, open now. It worked like a charm and brought up Lin’s. I used to come here a lot before I moved but it’s been probably 15 years. I noticed I could order online thru the Yelp app, so I did. It asked if I agreed to the Terms Of Service for Grubhub. I didn’t think the terms would apply to me since I was picking it up up myself, so I agreed without reading. I will never order this way again. They don’t ask what portion size you want, pint or quart and the prices were more expensive. I realized too late that I could’ve ordered from Lin’s website and saved money. From her reaction at pickup, I don’t think the restaurant gets the tip either. This place has gotten huge inside and has a very large buffet area. I had ordered beef fried rice, an egg roll and beef LoMein. The fried rice was very yellow and had beef and onions, no peas or carrots. I tasted it it and it was VERY good. The egg roll was nice and crispy and fully loaded. The beef LoMein was another story. It was so salty, I couldn’t eat it. I use a lot of salt, so if I think it’s too salty… I’m not interested in buffets and the health rating was a very low A at 90.5. I won’t return since there are better options...
Read moreThe menu had so many options and I was really excited to try some of the dishes. We ordered several different dishes for our family along with a few appetizers. The lady taking the order was so sweet. We had really high hopes of falling in love with this place. We got home and the kids practically ran us over to get into the bag of food (it smelled so good).
The first kid tried her dish (beef fried rice) and said it tasted like dish soap. I told her to try eating out of the box (thinking maybe the dishwasher didn't rinse the dish well). She started eating it out of the box and said it still tasted like dish soap. The 2nd kid tried hers (chicken fried rice) and said it had a funny taste. My husband tried his (black pepper chicken) and said it was awful. So, I tried mine (beef with mushrooms) and the dish detergent taste that my daughter had described was spot on. None of us were able to eat any of the dishes and we threw them all away.
We did really enjoy the teriyaki chicken, but the egg rolls and spring rolls were not very tasty. After spending close to $50, we each were able to only enjoy a piece of teriyaki chicken.
I really wanted to love this place, but the food was horrible. I'm giving 1 star for service and 1 star for the...
