Happy Joe's Pizza & Ice Cream - Kewanee — Restaurant in Kewanee

We have come a handful of times and have always been happy with our food and service. However, this evening we came with 4 kids to celebrate my son's birthday. The food was great per usual. However, service was a little off this evening. The boy who took our order would barely talk and we could hardly hear what he was saying. But we had thought we ordered a pizza to go along with our food we were eating there. He asked us if we wanted them to cook it now or wait and we had said they could do it now. Somehow, it didn't end up on our receipt. We didn't notice until we asked for our to go pizza. A lady, who seemed to be in charge for the night, bc she was wearing blue, came out asking about the pizza. My family member had ordered it, and she was in the bathroom at the time. The lady was badgering us about what kind of pizza we ordered and how they didn't even have that kind of pizza there (you know, all meat at difference places vary on names). I explained my family member had ordered it so i was waiting for her to come out of the bathroom to look at her reciept. She was just overall rude about the situation. We ended up staying longer to wait for the pizza and play games. This same lady accused our children of going into the men's bathroom and locking the door. 3/4 of our children can't go to a bathroom alone as they are too little, and we took them into the women's bathroom with us. 1 child who can go to the bathroom, alone, didn't even go to the bathroom while we were there. I had to repeat myself 3 times that no one in my group had even went into the men's bathroom. 1 minute later, another older kid came walking out of the bathroom. Extremely dissatisfied with our experience at this Happy Joe’s today. After attending my grandpa’s funeral, my family and I went to get some food together. We were a group of about fifteen. The owner acted annoyed as soon as we walked in and said only ten could sit at a table. We hadn’t even sat down yet. I asked if it was okay if we say at different tables. He said it was fine but still seemed annoyed. There was not a lot of other customers, in fact when we first got there, there was no one else there. Nevertheless, we all wore our masks except for when we were sitting at the table eating. When we were getting ready to leave, the owner came over and rudely told us that we needed to be wearing masks when we were moving around. For the most part, everyone in our group had been wearing masks when up from the tables. A few members had forgotten to put theirs on at the end, but he should have politely reminded them instead of being extremely rude to my grieving family. From the moment we stepped in, they acted like they didn’t want to serve us. Although we spent over three hundred dollars compared to there being no hardly any other customers, they were rude and annoyed that we were there. If you want to treat paying customers who are not being disruptive like garbage, you should just shut your doors and do carry out only. The food is overpriced and not very good.
