Keys Chocolate and Ice Cream — Restaurant in Key Largo

An absolutely INCREDIBLE PLACE! We are happy we found it, and made sure we visited as many times as we could for our short stay in Key Largo! We love ice cream and make sure to check out the local creameries every place we travel! Let me tell you - this one here was OVER THE TOP AMAZING and BETTER than most we have ever tried! It’s made in house and you could definitely taste the difference compared to “regular ice cream” from a chain creamery! The Nutella and the Coffee with Oreo are “to die for”! And if you think this can’t get any better - I’m here to tell you it CAN, because the service we received was ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! The young girl and boy who work there (and on one of our visited - there was one additional girl) were so friendly, welcoming and over the top helpful! I have worked in Retail Management and Customer service my whole life, and I can tell you - these young employees were providing a better service than some of the 5-star places I’ve seen! And I do hope they get recognition for the amazing job they are doing! On top of the amazing ice cream - they were part of the reasons we wanted to return as many times as possible! The visits to this place were one of the highlights of our trip and even though we were kind of late hitting the road on our last day of vacation - we just HAD TO STOP for one last time here! This been the second time we stopped by at this very cute and inviting chocolate shop. The store is gorgeous!!! The chocolates are absolutely beautiful and delicious. Its definetly a treat when we get a few pieces. We got a piece of key lime pie. I was going to so surprised that it was frozen - perhaps it was on the sign? We had a 4 piece chocolate box, I choose the dark raspberry. It was amazing. My daughter had the rest and my son had a scoop of vanilla ice cream,tasted like Hagen Dazs ice cream. So this was the good part,right? Now- Why am I the only one who felt that the lady behind the counter just wanted us out on the door? Barely said hello,no recommendations, while we were standing at the ice cream section she was at the chocoloate ,she didnt even try to serve us there. Then we moved over to the section she was so she can serve us? I had my 17 year old amd my 11 year old with me.. They had so many questions- and I was the one answering, not the lady behind the counter. Wierd. And last time we were there ,the same lady was there.. As I was reading the reviews I really dont think she was the one everyone else is talking about. The prices are also very high- however ,I would not even mention that if we have had good service. A local recommended Keys Chocolates for dessert, and since I absolutely love chocolate, I had to stop by for a sweet treat. The shop has a colorful ambiance and features work from local artists, which gives it a fun, creative vibe. They also serve ice cream on one side of the store, along with their signature Key Lime desserts (which I, unfortunately, couldn’t try due to an allergy).

I ended up getting a box of 8 chocolates and one truffle, which came to almost $30 with tax. I hesitated because it felt a little pricey, but decided to purchase anyway to support the local business and try them out. The chocolates were definitely tasty, though I can’t say they stood out compared to other chocolates I’ve had at a lower price point.

Service was polite, though the staff member helping me didn’t seem very knowledgeable about the chocolates. When I asked for recommendations, he mentioned that he never eats chocolate himself—which honestly left me unsure what to think.

Overall, it was a fun spot to visit once, with a nice atmosphere and good treats, but I’m not sure...
