I am not even sure where to start. Oh I know can I put some more stars!!! Seriously this place is quintessential Florida Keys! Doesn't look like much from the road but when you get in there it comes alive! We showed up there was band playing, people were eating, drinking, having a great time. The staff was buzzing around bringing out orders one after the other. We were greater almost immediately and told there were open seating and to sit where ever we liked. We found a nice table upstairs that was outside. We lucked out and got Spencer for our waiter! Hey was super cool! Oh yeah it was my wife and two kids dining out too. We told him it was first time here and what to recommend. He made some recommendations and also pointed out that they had a seafood platter for 4 people. He took our drink and appetizer order and left us for a few moments. We ordered the peel and eat shrimp. These things could have been baby lobsters. We got well over a dozen of them too. They were delicious. I would have snapped a picture but the kids demolished half of them before I could get the phone out. So back to that platter (called the megaladon) fried mahi, shrimp, conch fritters, calamari, onion rings, fries, and cole slaw......$49!!! I actually asked if that was per person. Spencer laughed and said no that was for the whole thing. They also offer it in a smaller portion for 2 people (the hammerhead). Food was awesome! Great portions and even better flavor. Spencer also brought us out a bunch of sauces to dip some of the food in. My wife and I ordered drinks off the specials menu. Let me tell you they were perfect! Well at least for us. Great flavors, definitely knew they had alcohol, not watered down or too sweet either. They also made my 15yr old daughter a virgin strawberry daiquiri and dressed it all up for her too. Sharkeys was a great experience. Definitely a place to bring the family, or a place to hang out with your friends if your down for a fishing trip. Looking over the menu the prices are super reasonable! Put it this way we fed a family of four and drank and our bill was $101..... that just doesn't happen anymore!!!! My family has definitely found our new favorite place to eat in the Keys!!!! I hope...
Read moreAt first I didn't like this place, but I sat beside the canal and thought to render a drawing in oil pastel, with sunset approaching. I ordered some fries and was prolly suspiciously polite, but I don't care. This world is a mean place and I'm doing what I can to change it. Maybe it was the position of the swinging door that has the staff so tense. The evening deepened to dusk and the live music wafted in the evening glow. A different waiter named Primo hooked me up with some napkins, the others didn't care about my ketchup catastrophe. I was starting to get pissed. Primo came over and compliments my drawing and told me about another artist, who sat where I was, and painted the view behind me. I asked where he was from and he told me born in Mexico but lived in California. He looked tribal and when I asked, he told me about his tribal history. Myself being an Oklaridian, I grew up around a lot of different tribes. His descriptions of his home brought a lot of memories back to me. He was real cool to me. Told him i was biking from Stock Island to Naples, FL. and sleeping in woods wherever I could. He blessed me and so I say, God bless Primo. He saved the night for me, and I typed this in the parking lot because it was one of those special Bro moments. Ain't nothing on earth like a good Broment. This memory will stay with me until my mind goes. Asked him what food he remembers his mama for, and he said Albondigas. First chance I get, I have some of that soup, and savor it, while I remember my evening at Sharkeys, in Key Largo. Good on ya, Primo. Many blessings in Je'sus to you and your family, Amen. Sharkeys should pay him twice what he gets. Just some parting humor:
Know why Little Fish wasn't allowed to go to the swim meet?

I found great reviews on this local place, Sharkey's. 522 Caribbean Dr, Key Largo, FL 33037 Daily Hours: 7 am to late Kitchen Open: Breakfast Menu: Monday through Saturday 7am -11 am Sunday 7am -12pm Full Menu: Sunday - Thursday 11 am to 10 pm Friday and Saturday 11 am to 11pm Sharkey's had such a cute "keys" vibe. We sat near the water to enjoy the view. The staff was so nice. There were boats passing by and people waving, such a great ambience. We ordered their famous fish dip as an appetizer, so delicious!
For our main course I ordered the BAJA FISH TACOS (HOUSE FAVORITE) Beer batter fried mahi mahi soft flour tortillas with fresh pico de gallo, jack cheddar, shr’d. Cabbage, & cilantro sauce. For my grandmother I ordered FISH N' CHIPS: Beer Batter Fried Mahi Mahi with Fries & Slaw. It was definitely a lot of food, but so delicious! The fish was fresh and full of flavor. I finished all of my food and we took the rest of the fish n' chips home. We wanted to try the key lime pie but we couldn't breathe from how full we were. I definitely recommend trying Key lime pie while visiting the Keys, its one of the specialties! Sharkey's is a great hangout spot for friends, they have over 40 types of beers, a pool table, and beautiful views. I will definitely come back next time I'm down in the keys. Rate:...
