If you even think you might drive through the Florida Keys, you’ll want to save this post. 📍Krust Pizza and Pies - Tavernier, FL/Key Largo This stop has a five star review on Google, a very small menu, and a friendly family-run vibe. When you put those two together you know it’s going to be excellent. Choose one of their base pizzas and add any additional ingredients you’d like. The crust is focaccia style with crispy cheese crust, and the ingredients are fresh and beautiful. Look closely to see the pesto drizzle! Their pizzas are 10x10, enough for two maybe three people, and baked in a deep dish pan. We had no problem devouring this square pizza heaven. For dessert, they offer a variety of pies that looked delicious but we did not try any this visit. This is one of two favorite pizzas in the Keys and ranks as one of our favorites in the country so far. Let us know if you’re adding this to your list next time you’re in the Keys. *Remember to check online for hours as they are a family-run business and operate on “island time” hours. We are Jeff and Sara - full-time RVers for five+ years. We have had seasons of travel and work camping and we are currently managing a campground in Colorado. Our RV is our home so we share about her and where we take her when we aren’t in our current stationary location. We added an ‘04 Jeep LJ to our family in 2024 and get our exploring as often as possible. We would love for you to follow along and wander with us! #pizza #pizzapie #bestpizza #pizzaofinstagram #pizzafreak #pizzagram #pizzatop #florida #floridakeys #keylargo #tavernierflorida #eat #yum #yummy #yumyum #yummypizza

When I saw the menu, I thought the price seemed a little much for a 10X10 pizza. Let me just say how VERY wrong I was. My husband decided I should choose the type of pizza since I picked the venue. I went with the veggie and added sausage. When the pizza arrived, the presentation was colorful, and the scent had my mouth watering. With the first bite, I knew that this was the best pizza I had ever tasted. The ingredients were fresh, the crust was just the right crispness, and the combination of flavors burst over my tongue. That is the husband's contribution to the kitchen, but it doesn't stop there. His wife makes the desserts, and they all look tempting, I finally narrowed it down to two options and bought one of each to try. The key lime pie starts out sweet and then POW! The tartness of the key lime hits you. The crust was just the right amount of moist and was not crumbling as I ate it. However, the burnt cheesecake with the caramel topper took the dessert prize, hands down for me. It was creamy, sweet, smooth, and lighter than the normal cheesecake, so you don't feel weighted down or gulity after eating it. If I were to choose one word to sum it up, that word would be decadent. Both the husband and wife were extremely friendly, and the restaurant was exceptionally clean. This will have to be a regular when we are in Tavernier. I encourage everyone who reads this review to try Krust.

Crust KRUST in the Keys is not just a pizzeria; it’s an experience! Owned by a warm and friendly husband-and-wife duo, this spot combines top-notch hospitality with incredible food. Their pizzas are a revelation—light, fluffy, and made with organic flour. We had two: one with white sauce and one with pesto, both customized to perfection. The vegetables were fresh, the cheese was outstanding, and everything felt homemade and intentional. Even their Caesar salad, which I’m very picky about, blew me away with crispy romaine, fresh Parmesan, and croutons that were crunchy and delicious. The unique Caesar dressing was so good I used it as a dip for my pizza. Our daughter tried their Nutella pie, and it was the perfect ending—light, fluffy, and nothing like the heavy desserts you get at other places. Crust KRUST is a must-visit for its food, friendly vibe, and attention to detail. Truly a standout in the Keys!

Title: An Unforgettable Slice of Paradise at KRUST Pizza

Rating: ★★★★★ (5/5)

When you envision the idyllic Florida Keys, the mind dances with images of white-sand beaches, tranquil turquoise waters, and lush tropical flora. Yet, amid the radiant sunsets and swaying palm trees, the culinary gem KRUST Pizza has unexpectedly etched itself as a key part of this sublime Keys experience.

At first glance, KRUST Pizza exudes an inviting, laid-back atmosphere that is characteristic of the Keys. The rustic wood, natural hues, and relaxed decor invite you in, setting the stage for a dining experience that is both authentically Floridian and surprisingly cosmopolitan.

However, the heart and soul of KRUST is undoubtedly its pizza. Handcrafted by artisan Joe who clearly has a profound passion for pizza-making, each pie is a culinary masterpiece. The secret to their success lies in the perfect balance they achieve in each component of the pizza. Their hand-tossed crust, true to the establishment's namesake, is a study in contrasts—crunchy on the outside, soft and chewy within—and it creates a harmonious base for the toppings that follow.

The sauces, prepared fresh daily, are vibrant and flavorful, offering a tantalizing range of choices from traditional tomato to their exquisite infused sauce. And the toppings? Fresh, high-quality, and delectably arranged to achieve a synergy of flavors that dance on your palate. Their selection accommodates all tastes, with a range from classic favorites to daringly innovative combinations, like the delectable Keys Specials.

But what truly elevates KRUST from merely a great pizzeria to an unforgettable dining experience is the warmth of its staff. From the moment you step through the door, you are welcomed like family. The service is prompt, attentive, and knowledgeable, showcasing a palpable love for their offerings. Their recommendations never fail to impress, and their attentiveness ensures a pleasant experience from start to finish.

No visit to KRUST Pizza would be complete without sampling their delectable array of craft beers and wines, hand-selected to complement their pizzas perfectly. From crisp, refreshing lagers to full-bodied reds, there is something to quench every thirst and enhance every flavor profile.

In conclusion, KRUST Pizza isn't merely a dining stop—it's a sensory journey. Each visit leaves you eagerly anticipating the next. So, whether you're a Florida Keys local or a lucky visitor to this slice of paradise, do yourself a favor and visit KRUST Pizza. Allow yourself to be seduced by its eclectic flavors, charmed by its cozy atmosphere, and treated by its exemplary service. It's more than just a meal—it's an experience you won't forget and can't help...
