On our journey from Marathon to Miami, we wanted to make a quick stop for breakfast. After searching for options along the way, we came across Cafe Moka and decided to give it a try.
When we arrived at Cafe Moka, it was clear that the place was popular. There was a queue, and we had to wait a bit before placing our order. Despite the wait, the ambiance of the cafe was inviting, with a cozy atmosphere and a welcoming vibe.
From the menu, we chose a variety of items to suit everyone's tastes. Our order included a Small Flavored Latte, Almond Croissant, Nutella Twist, Chocolate Croissant, Spinach Feta Croissant, Smoked Salmon Sandwich, Avocado Toast, a Mocha, and Tea.
After placing our order, we were seated at a comfortable table. Drinks were the first to arrive, including the Latte, Mocha, and Tea. Each drink was served steaming hot, and they were a great way to kick-start our breakfast. The Latte and Mocha were perfectly brewed with a rich, smooth flavor, and the tea was refreshing and calming.
Next came the croissants--Almond Croissant, Nutella Twist, Chocolate Croissant, and Spinach Feta Croissant. All were exceptionally delicious. The croissants were flaky, buttery, and baked to perfection, with just the right amount of crunch. Each one had its unique flavor, but the Nutella Twist stood out with its delightful sweetness, while the Spinach Feta Croissant had a savory balance that was simply amazing.
Then we moved on to the Avocado Toast and Smoked Salmon Sandwich. The Avocado Toast was a standout--a toasted slice of bread topped with creamy avocado and egg, creating a hearty and satisfying dish. The Smoked Salmon Sandwich was equally impressive, with fresh, flavorful salmon paired with perfectly baked bread, making for a delicious and well-balanced breakfast option.
Overall, Cafe Moka was an excellent stop for breakfast. The food and drinks were delicious, the service was efficient despite the initial wait, and the atmosphere made for a relaxing...
Read moreThe keys aren't known for European-style cafes (think more Tommy Bahama beach bars), and it's quite refreshing to walk into Cafe Moka and have a more sophisticated coffee experience.
The sandwiches/baguettes are delicious. The bread is crunchy but not too hard. My favorites are the prosciutto/brie and the mozzarella/brie. The soups are also super hearty and delicious. The mushroom brie is a favorite as well as the french onion. The salads are simple but very good. And the coffees are great! I love the chai latte -- very milky but not too thick and not too sweet. Finally, the croissants are dense and delicious.
There's a variety of cutesy artisanal goods for sale on the rack in the back as well as art on the walls. They also host local musicians and even have a wine pairing dinner sometimes.
There's free wifi and a small parking lot in the back. It's a great little escape away in the keys, and a really nice meeting spot (friends or business). It's that little bit of city culture that the keys is...
Read moreI have passed this location many times not knowing that I was missing out… this coffee shop is incredible! Delicious and balanced coffee (I had a iced macchiato which was perfect) tried their cortadito and the matcha latte and they were wonderful made as well. Also some of their baked goods like the almond croissant and a pound cake which were equally delicious. Their decoration is open fresh and so relaxing, such well taste placing all the tables and wall decor. This in just one visit has become a destination and a sure stop when in the keys… I might even consider making the trip just to come here!
Totally recommend. They have parking on the back, on the street in front and on the side. And as you pass to have a coffee, please stop in The shop and you will find so many beautiful things!
Go and visit, you...
