Don't know what they're doing, but they're doing it right! Had to go Xmas day, so we waited 30 minutes to get our table. They were moving very fast despite the new online order deals on top of their packed restaurant. Our hostess was efficient with getting everyone seated and our server, Cookie, almost immediately greeted us at our table and had our drinks out before I got back from the restroom. There was only a brief moment when I was without sugar for my coffee, and when we asked for some it was immediately brought out. Even a few things we ordered had been forgotten on our table, but when we asked about it, there was no hesitation before Cookie ran to the kitchen to grab whatever was missing. All the food was hot and fresh. Roast Beast omelette was really good, Grinch pancakes very fluffy. I've never liked IHOP bacon and theirs was that perfect crunchy/chewy combination this time. There was a couple in another server's section in front of us who were being quite rude and we witnessed Demetrius handle them so well. The couple was having trouble with their food a few times, so Demetrius said she would go make their food herself to make sure it was right next time. We could tell she was frustrated, but her face stayed positive and she never once wiped her smile away to them. I wish I got his name, but there's an employee from the kitchen that was serving people as well. We heard he was only hired two weeks ago, but this man was awesome! You don't see it often but he acknowledged the child of the family that came in to order their own food. Usually servers don't even bother with children customers and go straight to the parents to speak. On top of that, he was quick to compliment the table's order as he helped them decide what they want. Good vibes all around, we'd never guess he was there for two weeks. He's got a beautiful soul. We saw all the employees doing jobs that weren't for their position; the managers were busing tables and cooking, servers were cooking, dishwashers and cooks were serving! It all sounds so hectic but really everything looked like it was running very smoothly. Everyone had their hands together and it was some of the best team work...
Read moreHorrible, horrible, horrible service. I avoid IHOP at all costs, especially this one and I was reminded of why. My nephew's birthday was today and he loves IHOP so we met family there. It was maybe 10 altogether. When we walked there was no employee in sight. Once we met the rest of my family at the table we were given our drinks fairly quickly. The manager and the employee were not exactly what I would say professional.
Everyone ordered a meal, my brother met us there a bit late due to work. He called the waitress over to order only to be interrupted then he proceeded to attempt to order again and she had some of our food ready to hand and told him to wait again. She then waited until everyone's food was at the table to take his order. Meanwhile it had been about 45 minutes since we had been there, our cups were empty, we had to ask for refills several times that it almost felt like begging. I asked for A1 sauce, she still hadn't even refilled our drinks nor have gotten the A1sauce. It wasn't until we were all annoyed and the food was ice cold that the sauce was brought. At that point I didn't want to eat ice cold steak, broccoli and potatoes. The manager suggested to microwave my food. Had I not been so annoyed I would have started laughing. I was going to just bring the food home and pay for it but who wants to eat chewy microwaved steak and microwaved soggy fried shrimp? I asked the waitress the next time she showed her face, which was a long while after when brought the refills to remove it from our ticket or if she couldn't to give me a to go box. She said she would take it off. When we got the ticket it was still there. She gave us silly reason of it been for security reasons she couldn't remove it. Anyway, it was a bad experience. The restaurant was not packed. I guess the waitress was either tending too many tables or just didn't want to be at work because the service was horrible and we waited too long for simple ...
