My First Time Visiting Was An "West Indian Decedent" I TRULY Enjoy Caribbean Cuisine. I'm A Ride Share Driver Who Is A Very New Transplant To Central TX From Central FL and I Looked Up the Other Day When I Was EXTREMELY "Hangry" 🙃 After I'd Finished Dropping Off A Passenger and There Was, "ISLAND SPICE RESTAURANT" RIGHT THERE.... So, I Thought To Myself.... Let's Go Give It A Try, That's the ONLY Way You're Going To KNOW IF It's Any Good Or NOT?👀🤔👀 Well, I Ordered My "GO TO" Meal To Vette An Authentic Jamaican Restaurant (Since I've Got A Born & Raised Uncle From the Uncle Whom I Grew Up On Him Actually Dispatching the Goat 🐐 and Preparing Us Authentic Jamaican Dishes Him & My Aunt So, I Think I'm Quite the Critic Now @ That I'm Also A "WellSeasoned" BIGG WOMAN.

Now, the Meal Which I Ordered Included Curried Goat, Rice & Beans (Would've Preferred Authentic "Pigeon Peas"), Plantains, and Steamed Cabbage With Shaved Carrots.....🗣 Let Me Tell You ALL IF You Are In the Killeen TX Area and Desire An AWESOME Caribbean Meal "ISLAND SPICE" IS Indeed WORTH the 💰 Money, Time, & Your Effort To Visit. The Establishment Was CLEAN With A Pleasant Atmosphere, the Meat Was Actually Choice Cuts Unlike Some Places I've Unfortunately Experienced That'll Cheat You By Serving You "RIB MEAT" (Which Lacks Meat and Is More Grizzle That's Inedible) But, NOT @ " ISLAND SPICE" You Receive What You're Paying For and Some.

I DEFINITELY Rate Them @ FIVE (5) STARS and WILL Be Revisiting Them Again Next Time I've Got Another Hankering For Some Caribbean Cuisine.

Maybe being from DC and being spoiled by some really good authentic Jamaican restaurants has set my standards too high but I was far from impressed with the jerk chicken I ordered here. And I have yet to find a Jamaican restaurant here in Killeen that delivers.

After looking at this place’s good reviews and mouth-watering photos on here and Yelp I thought I was in for a treat but the jerk chicken, rice and beans were dry. The chicken was obviously grilled with jerk seasoning but instead of cooking rice and meat in the jerk sauce they simply squirt a little jerk sauce on the rice and meat from a bottle once they are in the styrofoam container, which I think is absolutely absurd. No potatoes come with it either. The chicken was damn near cold and while the steamed cabbage and rice and beans were pipping hot they didn’t have much taste. The prices are similar to back at home where there is a higher standard of living so I’m not sure why the quality is lacking down here with so many restaurants.

Oh well, at least the restaurant was nice, clean and spacious. Otherwise so...

I did a uber eats, oxtail large and 2 lunch curry chicken. I put in my notes, to add alot of oxtail gravy on my rice and bean. I don't like dry rice and beans. I got my order and there was not gravy on my rice. I called the restaurant and the cook told me she put the gravy on the rice and she don't know what to tell me. That's the only response she could give me. I'm not satisfied with her or her response. A better response would of been I'm sorry and I can give you a discount on your next or, or I can give you a free lunch special at your convenience when you come in the restaurant. Give me her name and she take my name down for the next time. So I will not be spending my money there anymore or referring anybody to...
