I'm not sure why everyone is giving 5 stars for no reason at all. The other "reviewers" seem to be hyper-focused on the "service", and are not taking the other factors into account at all. Important factors, such as the food itself. After all, this is a rating for a RESTAURANT. Let me talk ONLY about the food. Because this is Texas, where most people have this "ultra-fake niceness", so it's moot to talk about the service itself. So, about the food itself: This is marketed as a "New York Style" pizza. And while the technique, and ingredients give it a familiar New York style taste to it, mostly everything else about the food makes it not worthwhile. First, let's talk about pricing. This is absolutely the worst price for value in the 30 mile radius of Copperas Cove, Killeen, and Harker Heights area. The standard: a large pepperoni pizza will run you $15. (including tax). Yes, you read right - $15! Whereas LITERALLY next door, you could get 3 hot-and-ready's at Little Caesar's for the same amount. Now, sure, there's no comparison in quality, so let's about it without the comparison. The tomato sauce was under par, due to blandness and lack of punch. It tasted a little simplistic, and watered down. Now, while this is mostly true of New York Style, the rest of the ingredients don't make up for this. The dough was fine. Can't expect something too fancy from a "New York" dough and crust, so, no major complaints there as far as flavor is concerned. HOWEVER, the thinness of the dough itself leaves something to be desired. The slices come out PAPER-THIN. They must use at least 1/8 less of flour per pie than the standard. Every bite feels like it's over before you even put it in your mouth. One bite of a normal pizza from any other place is equal to about 3 of this pie. So needless to say, you will NOT be full from this, and will be left feeling empty, even if you ate the whole pie yourself. The cheese, again, was fine, but AGAIN, it felt like they used just a PINCH less than any other place would. It felt like I was getting very little of what I was eating. It's not enough to just offer the "taste" of a New York Style pizza, you ACTUALLY have to give a worthwhile portion to consume. I've tasted EVERY Pizza Restaurant in this 30 mile radius, from Bella Sera and Giovannis in Copperas Cove, to Joe's and Little Italy's and New York in Killeen, to Bobby Lupos in Harker Heights, etc.Not to mention the rest of the small pizza joints, and the franchise chains. Village is the worst when it come to VALUE. The only reason it didn't get 1 star is because the actual taste was good. The reason why it gets no more than 2 stars is because of the utter lack of focus on the actual Pizza itself, and providing good value for...
Read moreMe and my husband visited this establishment on 10/19 and 10/20. Two days in a row because it's freaking delicious. I forgot to take pictures of our Day 2 food ☹️.
I ordered their Chicken Bacon Ranch 8 inch pizza, Mild Buffalo wings, and a New York Style Cheesecake with Caramel. Everything gets a 5 star rating!!!! It was the perfect meal. My wings was the appetizer, my entree was the pizza, and cheesecake was my desert. When I tell y'all I was in heaven. Omg. It tasted freshly made, and was presented neatly. The next day, I ordered the same pizza because I am in an entanglement with this pizza right now lol. I also got another cheesecake, but added caramel and strawberries. DELICIOUS!!!!
My husband ordered the Spicy Italian Pizza and Lemon Pepper Wings. He loved it. I don't think he chewed 😂. The next day he ordered the Meat Lovers Pizza, Sausage links, and Garlic Bread. He really enjoyed the sausage links. He was super excited to even order it, and then they were tasty. He was very satisfied with his meal. He actually suggested we return the next day, which is not a normal thing for him.
Customer service is spectacular! Both times, they helped me out to the car with my food. Also, we didn't realize we were ordering a gallon of Sweet Tea, which was the BOMB, and a 2 liter Root Beer. We were surprised and excited because for the price, it's totally worth it.
All in all, thank you for this amazing experience. This location is saved on our Maps and will be a dining out...
Read moreToday, I had the bright idea to try pizza from a different restaurant, but made a mistake I won't repeat again. I decided to find & order a "Sicilian" pizza from this place, thinking it would somehow come close to what I've know Sicilian pizza to taste like...from New York/New Jersey. I encouraged them to try it, & they agreed. Boy I missed the mark. My wife & her friends took 1 bite & agreed it was terrible. The sauce was sour, & had a low budget frozen taste. It didn't have the extra cheese I requested, but know now, it wouldn't have helped either. It had a translucent appearance to it. After over 50 years of eating Sicilian pizza & Italian cuisine, I guess my palate is accustomed to that particular taste, but overall, it was NOT good. Now my wife is upset she & her friends left to eat elsewhere, & I'm stuck with a pizza nobody wants. I did call back & mentioned that I was dissatisfied, & the young lady I spoke to the person who both took the order & made the pizza, & was cordial & apologized that I was not pleased. I can't blame her being that she could only work with the ingredients they stock. I'm sure with all the other "great" reviews, Village Pizza won't lose any sleep, or customers over my review. You won't have to worry about me ever ordering pizza from this establishment...again. FOLKS, THIS IS NOT SICILIAN PIZZA, & SHOULDN'T BE CALLED APPROPRIATELY...NOR CHIGAGO STYLE. CALL IT SOMETHING DIFFERENT. Folks from the New York Area will be...
