Kimball Bakery/Merrycakes — Restaurant in Kimball

As a family from the Washington, DC area road-tripping, this was such a highlight of our trip. It wasn't just the fantastic tasting donuts (these are the real deal with the best icing). It wasn't also that the owner understood our allergy concerns (which parents can appreciate). The big story is how much this experience with the owner and the bakery impacted my 11-year-old. She made the connection of buying and supporting local businesses. She saw it and experienced it. She has made it a point ever since to search out the "Kimball Bakery" everywhere we go. Haha one of my new favorite places to visit, it was still early post Covid and service was curb side. The proprietor was quick to the curb as we pulled up and give us the breakdown on a vast variety of donuts and coffee available. He highly recommended a lightning strike with a high voltage enthusiasm so I took him up on it... And I was pleasantly surprised and ordered another...
