I drove 30 minutes to eat here from the suggestion of my friend who has dined at this location several times. I had never had Thai food and was very willing to try. Upon entering, my friend said a greeting in Thailand to the owner I am assuming. We sat down and I let her order because I did not know what to get. Our initial server was a younger guy with tattoos and he only acknowledged my friend who is from Thailand. I was upset but said nothing. This server did not give his name which is just rude to begin with. He kept asking questions to my friend as if I was not there. I am another race so the lack of customer service and ignoring me presented prejudiced vibes. Moving forward, my friend ordered the popular "sampler" platter with one substitution. The server was sarcastic to my friend when she asked if she could substitute something else on the platter. He had an attitude of "Well you already have this, do you know what I mean?" Nevertheless, she placed that order and I was pretty much impressed with the food that came out. My friend had to ask for a spice rack. The server should have brought out this automatically without having to be asked as well as extra napkins etc. Somewhere throughout, I said "Thank you" to the server. It was like crickets. No comment. I said thank you again and he nodded his head and walked backed towards the kitchen area. Fast forward to the manager I'm assuming coming over to our booth to speak to my friend who visited frequently. My friend told him how the server was acting which was rude. She told him that he needs to let him go. This manager's response was "We both do the same thing." No apology anywhere!!!!!!!! It was very rude! Our server went over to wait on another table. We did not see him again until it was time to leave when he ironically said "Y'all have a good night." Oh, so I do exist...Hmmm. Before leaving this manager took our bill and the total was $61 and some change and said "I am going to take care of that." I thought he was comping something for the lack of customer service and hospitality. My friend said that he was charging for the little cups to put sauces in. He brought the bill back and I believe it was $66 dollars and some change. There was a 6.75% and tax added. The 6.75% should have been a gratuity for a larger party. It was just two of us. This manager said some other things that I can't recall right now, but hopefully my friend will do a review and comment. I was livid! I asked him about the charge of the containers. He said "There is a charge everywhere. Even McDonald's charge for extra sauce." Just rude!!!!!!! I don't know why he made that comment because McDonald's is probably .25 cents for an extra sauce. These containers were probably brought in bulk or from Dollar Tree. They need to inform customers prior if there is a charge for containers or cups. What if we did not have enough money to cover such expenses? My friend and I split the bill. I paid cash and she used her card. I ended up paying the bulk of the bill. I do not mind paying top dollar at any restaurant. I have money and have dined at expensive restaurants. The menu prices were high!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Due to the sarcasm, being confrontational to us, (especially me) we left no tip! I will NEVER return to this location. Don't talk down to me like I can't comprehend. I have a Master's Degree and I am a Professor. I teach on problems in the workplace and fixing problems inside the organizations. If you don't care about customer service and only the money, your establishment will surely go down. I DO NOT recommend this establishment/restaurant to anybody. What a waste of my drive time to get there! The photos have already been uploaded. We also had Sake, Thai Noodles (supposedly) with Duck I believe and some Thai tea. One last comment as it related to the food....with the shrimp fried appetizer, the shell was left on which made it difficult to eat and could have been swallowed. Take the freaking shell off!!!!!!!!!...
Read moreAt the time of writing this, this business had 4.9 stars. Someone robbed them of 0.1 star! The food is truly is amazing here. My favorites are the seafood pho, the combination pho, the red curry duck, the yellow curry duck, and the steamed dumplings. There is nothing on the menu that is bad and they have no problem customizing the meal if you ask. Oh, and you have to try the Thai Tea. I have had a lot of Thai Tea and they make a really good one.
My former coworkers and I ate here for Thai Tuesday every Tuesday and sometimes Thursday for years. We got to know the owner and his team. They really care about customer service and making their restaurant feel like home. The owner will remember your names, your food preferences, and your stories. This is the kind of business that you walk into one time with your distant cousin. The owner will come chat you two up. The next time you come in, the owner will ask how you are doing, if that big project you were doing at work panned out, is your cousin back in town, and did your cousin have their baby since they were due last week. My fiancé and I have had some of our best memories eating here and just hanging out with each other and the Amazing Thailand team.
My former coworkers, my fiancé, and I followed this business from Winston to King. The transitional time when they were closed was the “dark days” from my time living in Forsyth County. I no longer live in the area but every time that I’m in town, I make sure to patronize...
Read moreI've been here a few more times now, and I my opinion hasn't changed. "Amazing Thailand" is aptly named. My daughter and I enjoyed a lunch at Amazing Thailand yesterday, and it was fantastic. We entered a dining room that was clean and attractive. We were greeted and offered our choice of where we wanted to sit. Our beverage orders arrived quickly, as did our salads and spring rolls (which came with our order). Our server was friendly and attentive. Our dishes were served hot and the plates were appetizing in appearance. The food did not disappoint. My daughter had the Sesame Chicken, and it was delicious. It had a lot of flavor without being too spicy, so even those "picky eaters" who don't love a lot of spicy heat can find plenty to order here. I ordered the "Prik Prow" (pictured) and it was incredible. I chose chicken, but my dish (and many others) can be prepared with chicken, beef, pork, tofu, or vegetable. I also had the option of spice level. Our server (perhaps the owner?) seemed genuinely concerned that we enjoy our food and our experience there. My only complaint is that I had to drive 23 minutes to get there. 😉 But honestly, it would be worth it even if I had had to travel an hour. I wish I had discovered them years ago. I will definitely become one of their...
