Five stars for a McDonald's?! Yeap. No mistake here! I was genuinely shocked myself.
We, my two sons and nephew, were traveling through on I-85. We had missed the McDonald's in Gastonia, NC. We were hungry, cheeseburgers seemed appropriate to eat in the car, so we got off the exit and hit this McDonald's.
First thing that caught my attention was how polite the young girl was on the speaker box. We had to order right double cheeseburgers (mostly young kids) and of course; two had to be plain, four just ketchup, and two regular. Four fries, and four drinks. The young girl repeated back our order and we were off to the second window to pay. Line of cars, but this McDonald's knew how to get them moving! Wait time was next to nothing!
So at the first window we were greeted again. "Hi, how are you today? Your total is $---" goes a long way in customer service. I can't tell you how I can't stand when ask they do is give you a total and no greeting. Not this young lady. So polite and more importantly, you can tell she was sincere. We proceeded to the order window, and again greeted by another young lady. Just as polite, and smiled the entire time! Even had a short conversation about missing the McDonald's in Gastonia and stopping here. She playfully responded that they were much nicer here and that we should always make this our stop!
We got our drinks, and then our order. We pulled off to the side so I can distribute the burgers. As a parent, I can tell you the nightmare I was expecting to have to open every burger to see if the order was correct. Didn't have to do that. Each burger was marked with the instructions, and the entire order was correct!
I love giving Google reviews. I also am very critical sanity giving five stars to fast food restaurants. It rarely happens. But this McDonald's earned it hands down! Keep hiring those friendly, smiling faces! For a lot of people, it's not just about the food; but the service as well. Mcdonald's, at this location you all scored big! Read moreFast food is suppose to be fast. There does not seem to be any coordination between the 2 order lanes. First both lanes are painfully slow especially when there are more than 2 cars waiting to place their orders in each lane. There are times when 3-5 cars will get through one lane while only one car get through the other. At this point we have been in line at least 3 minutes. Then its anyone's guess how long you have to wait to get you food or drink. Most days it is 3-5 minutes or more. I have at times got out of line before ordering and gone inside to order because of the long drive through line hoping that i would get faster service but that is not the case. I can be the only one in the place and have to wait for someone come to the counter. Maybe I could understand if they were short handed but most of the time I can count 5-7 people working or more. On one occasion I was the second person waiting at the counter to order and after the person in front of me placed their order the employee went out front and sat down to talk to her friend. I waited to order and the person in front of me waited to get their food and they had to call over what looked like a crew lead or manager because they had on different cloths. That person got the person food and made me wait until the girl came back from her break. During all this time 3 employees continued their discussion by the fries. By the way it seemed to me the teens were working hard while the older people chatted and did not seem to care how long the drive through line was or how long the customers had to wait. I have filled out the review on the back of the receipt many times and asked that someone call me about my service but have not once received a call back. I only get coffee on Sundays from here because the coffee shop is closed and will never order food from this...
Read moreIf I could give this 0 stars I would. I placed an order with them through doordash this morning at 8:55am, got my order and half of it was missing. So I placed ANOTHER order with them through doordash at 9:54am. My dasher was there waiting for my food for over an hour and he checked in on my order and the manager (JAY) said that they cancelled my order. They did not inform my dasher of that, nor updated it on the app. The dasher then showed my order to the manager again and showed him that the order was no cancelled and the manager (JAY) laughed at him and told him that they aren’t making my order and told him to leave. I got in touch with doordash and they are refunding me. I called and spoke to Jay (the manager at mcdonalds) who was VERY rude, and he said that I needed to contact doordash, I informed him that the issue was with him and not dd. And I asked why they refused to make my order from 9:54am and he claimed that it was his first day in that store and that he used to work for cooperate. I then told him that if he worked for cooperate previously then he should know good and well how to handle this issue and in his words he said “I don’t care, I gotta. I’m not dealing with this.” Then proceeded to hang up the phone when I asked for cooperates phone number. Tried calling back but they did not answer so I called from my husbands phone and they answered, got “cooperates” phone number from the girl who answered but the number doesn’t work so I’m assuming I was given a fake number.
I would like to speak with the owner of this store because this “manager” named Jay clearly does not care about his job or take his position seriously. Laughing at customers and refusing to help and hanging up the phone is so unprofessional and I will be filing a complaint with cooperate...
