I just had THE WORST restaurant experience in my life, at this Kingsburg Dicicco's Restaurant! First of all, we were the only customers at the time but waited close to an hour to be served. Other customers came in afterwards but received their food before us. We didn't order anything special or extra. We didn't complain about the wait and remained patient. When our order arrived, my plate was salty. One of my guest's plate looked like a heaping pile of marinara sauce. You had to push the marinara sauce to find the lasagna and spaghetti. It was bland, had very little taste and didn't have an authentic Italian flavor. Very disappointing. My guest did not want to complain. But, as we were about to ask for the tab, I noticed that he had eaten very little of his meal. I took it upon myself to alert my server. He kept repeating, 'I wish you would have said something earlier ', three times. No apology or how can I make this a better experience for you. Which made me uncomfortable, disappointed, & embarrassed that I had recommended this restaurant. The server left and returned with a revised receipt showing that he removed the item, without saying anything. At that point I went to pay. I asked the tall older man at the register if he was the owner and he said yes. I asked who my server was and he said it was his son. I started to explain my experience and disappointment in which the owner began to over talk me to say that I waited too long to notify them. He would not allow me to speak, insinuating that I wanted a free meal. I kept my calm but he was obviously upset to the point that he continued to argue with me. I stated that his behavior was unprofessional and asked if he would please stop arguing with me and give me my change so I could leave. He continued to argue with me. I once again asked for my change and stated that I would not come back to this restaurant. He became so angry that he threw money at me, leaned over the counter and in a low voice stated, "get the f* out of here"! Yes, he said exactly that! I have never had anyone speak or behave in such an unprofessional and rude manner. I wish I had read some of the recent reviews that indicate how rude the owners are, I would have never brought my guests to this restaurant.
Update Upon reviewing response from the owner:
First of all, I did not request the meal to be eliminated from the tab, your son offered to remove it upon viewing that 75% was NOT eaten. As I stated, my guest did not want to complain because he is a gentleman, unlike yourself. And NO, we did not take my guest's meal because it was unpalatable. What you stated about my husband is untrue. After being told by you to 'get the f* out of here' and have money thrown at me, of course I won't return. What I find interesting is the fact that my review is clearly not an isolated case. Please work on your customer service skills, the poor reviews of genuine customers reflect...
Read moreThe past few times when ordering take out the service was less than desirable but today it was to the point I'm sure we most likely work be back.
Placed a to-go order at 4:22pm and was quoted 20-30 mins.
Arrived and paid for the meal at 4:45pm and was advised that it would be another 5 mins because the soup wasn't ready yet. I was fine with this and sat down.
After not being able to get the attention of the waitress I spoke to another waitress at 5:22pm and was told "the soup isn't ready and you'll need to talk to the other girl because I just got here".
When I finally was able to flag the original waitress down she again told me "the soup isn't ready". I reminded her I ordered over an hour ago and that she had told me 45mins prior that it would be a 5min wait (being that it was now 5:30pm). I was then told it was because they had to make a new batch of soup and she didn't know if it was ready. I asked her if she could please check.
A few mins later my order was brought out, not by her but by the other waitress with no not a single word said. No apology, no thank you for your patience, just silence as if it was an inconvenience.
Communication was lacking, I would have appreciated being told if they were making a whole new batch that would take 45+ additional mins. I could have removed it from my order or chose another soup. Instead I was left feeling ignored and as though I was a bother for asking for an update.
Another customer who was waiting said I was more patient than she would have been. Unfortunately my patience for this location...
Read moreHey, thanks for your response, but I wasn't looking for free food or special treatment. Best of luck! Too bad for Diciccio's! Kingsburg Diciccio's, it seems, no longer has the goods for a great meal. I had Fettuccini Alfredo, no chicken. There was no parsley, I added pepper to bring some life to it, but was unable to save it. It bordered blandness. It didn't need salt, but the Italian spices that make up that authentic Italian signature taste wasn't there. It definitely wasn't there. It tasted like mere white sauce over pasta. Imagine that? We received our dishes in less than 2, 3 minutes after ordering, so it seemed a little short. The restaurant seemed like it was operated by kids, meaning that, ok, serve everyone quick and we can close for tonight. Years ago, I used to go to Diciccio's Fresno downtown for the scarface plate. That was great, but I guess those days are gone. What's worse is that it was my birthday and it was either Chinese or Italian, I made the wrong choice. I actually had a free Denny's birthday meal in the morning, and the Grand Slam meal was better than Kingsburg Diciccio's. That's pretty bad. It will be many months before I return to Diciccio's in Kingsburg. The owners need to get it together, you have a great brand, get pumped up again, don't let uncaring employees bring down the reputation. Just a side note, no big deal: my meal is listed in the menu as $12.49, she charged me 13.48, I told her about it, she said, the special sauce is more. I don't think so, but she looked at the menu, and said, you're right, and...
