The rating is in regards to our last experience and at the old location that I can't seem to get my mind off of. We had been here before and had a pretty good time as I've taken my family quite a few times. Well we went to a birthday party and I'll note that we went to a previous birthday party without issue. This time however I arrive and as soon as I walk through the door my friend's mom said go get you some pizza, it's all paid for. When I go up to the counter to get plates for me and my son there was no one there for a very long time and we are pretty hungry and having to wait for a cashier to come. Finally the cashier comes up and is going to charge me for our food. I explained that my friend paid for it (pause) then I said "didn't she?" I was confused. She said mmmmmm and looked around for someone ? and then continued to ring me up without asking anyone or even saying anything to me. Instead of confirming or denying or checking on it she just rings me up!!!
I had to pay for our buffet and drinks and then got my son a cake pop and salad bars as my son. My son likes to always get a salad bar to nibble on cucumber and cherry tomatoes (certain veggies). My friend and her parents split the cost of this and I heard my friend saying how expensive it ended up costing for everyone, I know they went up there to pay again for more people also and when I asked they said mine was paid for. I still don't know what happened but it really did seem quite shady this time but maybe there was miscommunication. I don't know but not how a business should be run. I haven't been back since.
The atmosphere was not great that time in particular as well and they were struggling to keep pizza coming. My son is very picky and doesn't eat much besides pepperoni pizza and cheese bread/sticks and there was none of that. We had to wait 20 mins to bring that out and he ate all of one slice of pizza. I got him two but he only wanted one as it was loaded down in sauce and I ate the other slice. I try not to waste food.
The guy who was bringing pizza out was more then friendly however. But my son did finally did get to eat and then we waited a bit longer to wait on the cheese bread. In the mean time my son sat looking around at others eat because the game he actually liked was tied up. There was really only one game my son wanted to play, he's extremely shy too and the place was packed because of the party and other customers and employees so it made for an awkward experience. My friend's mom even asked if he was okay because he didn't seem happy. :( He did finally get to play that game for a bit. I had to go to the restroom which was tight between the games and trying to get in and out without hitting kids and people but that's no biggie.
My complaints are mainly with the entire experience at Galaxy Pizza but especially having to pay for food that was already paid for.
We usually go to the arcade in Johnson City and my son has a complete blast there but since we live in Kingsport we have made trips to Galaxy Pizza on occassion. Just a disheartening experience and it shouldn't be this way. It would be nice to try the new location but I haven't been able to bring myself...
Read moreI really debated to write this because one person doesn't make an entire business yet it was enough to where we probably won't be back. The food was OK, the atmosphere was ok and we were excited to have a new place to take our kids. We took my step son and his two friends ( all 10yrs old) and loaded up over a $100 dollars onto their gaming cards and said have fun. We go to order and this kinda where it started the male employee was very helpful and explained how the menu kinda works. So we go to order and there was a female employee, it just felt like there were a million things she would rather be doing. Which i get it, Its Saturday and you are stuck at work. I ask a small question about if i can get half the pizza with mushrooms. She says sure. I followed up you won't know how many slices that would be. She says " i dont know... two three whatever. I said ok doesn't matter we will take it. Nothing is said and we are kinda thrown aside. No big deal. Not everyone is gonna go all out in customer service and i wouldnt have thought twice about it. So the boys were having fun when they run up to us like they had just won the lottery. They said they found a card with no credits on it but had about 400 some tickets on there. We told them to see if belongs to anyone if not we will go from there, so after about 30 minutes no one was left in the arcade so we said ok. They go up to the counter to get there prizes and being boys they were so excited about the extra card they told the said female employee And she says nope I will take that and took it from them and threw it away. Come on.... you tore those boys heart out they even went above and beyond to make sure it didn't belong to anyone. And the extra 400 tickets couldn't even get you a ball. Soon after that, as she was working the prize counter I hear here exclaim to the male employee " i am done" and walk away. It was loud enough we heard it from across the room. Maybe I am splitting hairs here and every one has a bad day but all three kidw were DESTROYED. Also I get it we spoil our kids but we all remember being 10 and thinking you just hit the jackpot just to have someone who is having a bad day to step all over it. It is a business geared toward young patrons please understand your bad day can destroy the way a child looks at your business. We spend about 200-300 or more every month looking to do fun things with our kids. So as we left we asked did you enjoy it... they all said mmmhh. So to some it up the place...
Read moreI reserved tables for my grandson's birthday party when we got there they told us it was for last Sunday which it couldn't have been because I didn't call until October 10th which is this past Monday and but anyways as we are setting things up and people are coming in we and they're in the party we are asked to move some of our stuff off the tables so they could clean them so other people could sit down I think that was very unprofessional we also had people leave due to the fact they had nowhere to sit before we had the cake and my grandson got to open his presents and for the money that I spent in there way over $100 it should have been okay because we were told first come first serve plus I called ahead of time to make sure it was reserved I understand other customers come in but at the same time when you have paying customers in there that have already paid for everything and they're told that tables are good everything is good it should have stayed that way so my grandson had an okay birthday party and he was he just turned four so he didn't understand everything that was going on but he did ask where his mama and papa were going his aunts and uncles and cousins and we had to tell him they were leaving to go to work but in reality we had nowhere to sit and including myself there's probably about 15 customers that will not return for future business due to the way today carried out I'm adding I didn't speak to the owner I did come back up and keep yall updated when more people showed up and whoever I spoke to on the phone was relaying what I was saying to someone else and you need to make it clear that when you do reserve it that you will be asked to move your stuff to another table to where everything was cramped up because if I would of been told that in advance we would of went...
