We contacted Broad Street BBQ 2 weeks before our rehearsal dinner to place an order. They contacted us a week before our event to confirm our pickup on Friday, November 27, and 5:00PM. Fast forward to this date, and the restaurant was closed when we arrived for pick up. We were absolutely dumbfounded as we sat in the parking lot looking at a closed restaurant while we had our guests waiting on the food we were supposed to be bringing. My husband went to the door to make sure we weren't seeing what we knew to be true. They were closed and did not have our food ready for us. On Saturday, November 28 (our wedding day), I received a text from Sherry asking us to pick up our order early because they were closing at 3:00. I politely replied that the food they had prepared was no longer needed because they were a day late. They called twice after my text was sent and apologized offering a 10% discount on a future order. When we returned from our honeymoon, my husband called to find out what happened and talked to a very rude, unprofessional manager, Sherry. I immediately called back after his call ended to experience the same rudeness and unprofessionalism that he received. After Sherry hung up on me, I called back and left a message with Beth asking the owner, Steve Hanes, to please call me. He has not called. Apparently, taking care of their customers is no longer a priority for this establishment. We will never return will tell everyone within earshot to stay away from this unprofessional, unorganized, discourteous,...
Read moreMan what a visit. Came here for the two hotdogs special. 8.99 +tax. She said they were out of hotdogs. She convinced me to get the hamburger special. 10.99+tax. I was exceptionally nice to the lady advising her it wasn't her fault. She was by herself and it was very busy so I apologized she was so busy. After a long time 12 to 15 minutes I heard the cook say they were done with all the orders they had. I went up to the chef's counter and my food was sitting there. Cook apologized and brought me the hamburger. It was not how I ordered it. The couple behind us got their food and finished it before I had even got my hamburger. Then the cook tried to take off the items that were not supposed to be there and tried to give it back to me. Not acceptable. I decided to speak to the lady up front. I spoke to her and she said it takes 8 minutes longer then I told her what happened and before she could answer a man came up and said talk to him . Advised he was the owner and I needed to stop being rude to his daughter. I was never rude. Then another customer grabbed my arm and said to calm down. This assault made me mad so I turned to the other and the owner grabs my arm and jerked it back. I asked for my money back and he said then you leave "my restaurant". No problem, don't need 2 assaults with my lunch. Most of the 5stars are past 2 year's ago. Waiting on the copy and paste reply from the owner. Good luck if you go here. Should have...
Read moreMy family and I love Broad Street BBQ. I eat there almost any time I’m in Kingsport. However, since the pandemic began, we have placed two carry out orders and have been extremely disappointed with the service both times. They do not have a good, clearly explained carry-out system in place currently. The first time I placed an order on the phone and waited 30 minutes in the drive through only to be told at the window we could’ve come inside to pick it up. This information could have easily been provided on the phone or posted somewhere on the exterior of the building. Most recently, I did go inside, and as per the signs posted on the door as well as the mayor’s mandate that masks must be worn inside of businesses, I wore a mask. I was SHOCKED to see that not a single employee was wearing a mask when handling food and drinks nor did they put one on when they brought me my order. Given this lack of concern for their customers’ (as well as their own) health, my family will not be eating there again while the...
