New review 4/2/25: So we ordered pizza on the 2nd(this might say the 3rd cause I didn't get a chance to do it yesterday the 2nd) Ordered a Pepperoni & a cheese pizza, they bring two cheese pizzas, then say we didn't say pepperoni, we say take it back we don't want this, they said "we not gonna make another one, we can bring you pepperoni) it took almost an hour just to bring that like for that they could've just gave us a new one like any other place would, Domino's would've, whatever happen to the customer is always right? In this case we actually were. The only reason why we ordered from them was because they were convenient but this time we told them to make sure the pizza is hot, last time it was hot but they pretty much burnt it like they can never do anything right here it's always an issue with this place, so now this time the pizza was hot but not what we ordered, like how is it so hard to deliver a quality pizza that somebody asked for? Must be a PA thing cause a lot of these places just love getting your orders wrong no matter how clear proper English you speak. Therefore they can have their pizza & shove it, I'll order from somewhere else even if it's not convenient, no pizza or food is worth this bs. I'm giving everything a one star, the food is good if it ever is made the way you want it but that's usually rare which makes it not enjoyable so one star, this place is incompetent, the service sucks, this the only place I've seen so far that won't give you another pizza when THEY give you the wrong pizza. Atmosphere can't be good with a place that can't do their job right & that has horrible service so overall a one star. Not even trying to be rude or anything but enough is enough, I'm not gonna sugarcoat it especially when money is being wasted.
Previous review: Every single time, EVERY time, the dam pizza is close to COLD & if I'm lucky it's warm so much so that I've had to come here today after ordering pizza & give them a review that was long overdue. I understand there are a lot of orders but I'm close by Why is my pizza always close to cold? Like you are the restaurant & you know how people want their food nobody wants cold pizza, you take our money as it's our part to pay right? So why can't y'all do y'all part & actually deliver hot pizza? Lol, You're the restaurant You know what you're getting into being a business so all of that is not my concern, my concern is what I paid for. I definitely don't recommend unless you go in to eat, the pizza is great pizza for sure but that doesn't matter when it's always pretty much cold. I'll have to find some other place to order pizza from...
Read moreTonight we ordered an 18 cut tray, no onion, half mushrooms, for delivery. We doled out some pizza and started eating, only to realize they had onions on them! My mom called and complained, and after some hums and haws from the employee, they said they'll make 9 cuts of no onion, but we have to pick it up. My mom said we can't do that.. (our first order was delivery FOR A REASON). The employee checked with the manager again, and we were allowed a delivery - how nice of them - but we had to return the 9 cuts of onion we accidentally received! That's weird?! As if they're going to sell them to another customer or something?!?! The delivery driver brought our correct 9 cuts, and mom gave back what we had left after the initial realization that these were onion slices.. which was 5 slices out of 9. As we're eating, mom receives a call from Mark, the manager. Mark was SCREAMING at my 62 year old mother telling her that she stole 4 slices from him, she's a thief, and a liar!!! I heard him yelling at her over the phone from across the room! My mom was crying when she told him how do you think we found the onions - This "man" MARK made my mother CRY!! Over FOUR slices of Sicilian pizza. He continued yelling at her telling her she needs to return the 4 slices she stole, right up until she hung up, because she just couldn't take it anymore.
My mom was so upset that she actually took 4 slices from our replacement pizza, had my dad drive her to the restaurant, and returned them directly to Mark. That was the plan anyway, but when she got in there and Mark CONTINUED to call her a liar - she flipped the paper plate of slices onto the counter, because this jerk had berated her enough! He then yelled at her to never order from there again... 🤣🤣 as if we were going to!
P.S. Our order tonight was us giving them a second chance from a major screw up we had in 2021.. We've learned our lesson....
Read moreWe arrived at Tommy's Pizza Corner on Friday close to 7 p.m. Although the dining area was close to 50% capacity, there were plenty of people standing in line waiting for their takeout. Maybe it was the single digit temperature outside that forced people to call in their order, but I overheard one of the staff members telling someone on the phone that there would be a two hour wait!
We were seated immediately and ordered an 18-cut tray of fried Sicilian pizza. We waited for almost 20 minutes before our meal was served.
The pizza was delicious. The dough was light and fluffy, the sauce pretty sweet, and plenty of cheese. The dough was "dough-y," which may not appeal to some, but I found it satisfying. Visiting there for the first time, I'm not sure if that is the norm, or if the demand that evening was such that the pizza was taken out a bit early. Nevertheless, if one is not a fan of that type of consistency, round pizza is also available. Of course, there are a variety of toppings to choose from.
The menu also consists of wings, strombolis, hoagies, and more. The atmosphere is very cozy, and the decor, although not extravagant, is quite comfortable in its own right. The walls are lined with historical photos of Tommy's hometown of Kingston. The backrest of the booths have "Tommy's Law," light, quasi-philosophical quotes such as, "There is always one more bug," and "Never play leapfrog with a unicorn."
Tommy's Pizza Corner is a favorite among the locals, and should be on any pizza lover's list. In my opinion, it ranks as a member of good standing when it comes northeast...
