The server we had was very friendly and nice. Checked on us, however order was incorrect. Asked for grilled asparagus instead of fried she corrected it. Also let me know she typed it in. It was a kitchen error. The host is the reason I’m giving less stars we sat in the bar area and the bus boy a young man. Looked like it could possibly be his first job. He was hustling and cleaning tables. Before anything happened my husband was even impressed with the way he skinned the spray bottle. I also informed he there was spilled drink across from us by the bar. Someone could fall and slip, he quickly cleaned and said thank you for letting us know. About 15 20 mins pass by, The host was giving him dirty looks and told him he was so slow and that he is he needs to hurry up go! The way it came off was so ugly and I’d be upset if that was me or my child being spoke to like that. It was not in an encouraging or respectful manner at all! Yes both of them are young, however you don’t know confidence level of others! She was a blonde host working sat evening June 28th around 8pm and she saw that my husband and I witnessed it all on the dinning floor across from the bar. The host said sorry to us for hearing that. Which means she knew she did something wrong and knew better! We did take the time to inform the manager of it all. Also informed him the busser looked like he was working hard. Wanted to give him some props. He did say he was one of the best bussers they have. However it’s still on my mind how that young man was being spoken to, 24 hours later. Hope he was giving the heads up on the props. To hopefully boost his confidence. Every position busser, kitchen staff, servers, host are all valuable. It takes a team to run a business. Respect amongest each other is needed. Hope that hostess is coached better! She should know not speak to others in such a nasty way! The bussers will help her job and seating people. So she should be kind to them! It was not just the words spoken but the look on her face and her tone. The over all demeanor towards him! Absolutely not ok! Other than that the seating in the bar area was a nice experience to eat and watch the Astros play. Food was good as well the got the filet with lump crab meat severed on a bed of fried asparagus which I subbed for grilled and lemon butter sauce with grilled shrimp and lemon butter sauce was absolutely the perfect touch. Pairs great with rice and veggies. Also the appetizer we got was chips with nacho cheese and pulled pork with chives and cilantro. Delish! My house salad was also a...
Read moreA Memorable Dining Experience with Arron at Saltgrass
Dining out isn’t just about food—it’s about the overall experience. The atmosphere, service, and how you’re treated all play a role in whether a meal becomes just another dinner or a memory you carry with you. During a recent visit to Saltgrass Steak House, my experience was elevated by the exceptional service of a waiter named Arron, whose positive attitude and respectful professionalism made all the difference.
From the moment we were seated, Arron brought a warm and genuine energy to the table. He greeted us with a friendly smile and an upbeat tone that instantly made us feel welcome. His attitude wasn’t forced or overly rehearsed; it felt sincere. You could tell he took pride in his work, not just by the way he spoke to us, but in the way he carried himself and stayed engaged with every table around him.
One of the things I appreciated most about Arron was his ability to read the room. He struck the perfect balance between attentiveness and giving space. He didn’t hover, interrupt, or try to make unnecessary conversation while we were eating. Instead, he timed his check-ins just right—refilling drinks, checking on our meals, and responding quickly when we needed something. He was always nearby, but never intrusive, which allowed us to enjoy our meal and conversation in peace.
Arron also had a great knowledge of the menu and offered helpful suggestions when asked, without being pushy. It was clear that he listened to what we were looking for and tailored his recommendations accordingly. Little details like that—listening, offering thoughtful input, and treating customers like individuals—are what set great service apart from the rest.
In today’s fast-paced world, where good service can sometimes feel like an afterthought, Arron reminded me of how impactful it can be when someone brings a positive attitude and genuine care to their role. He didn’t just serve food—he helped create an enjoyable, stress-free experience that left a lasting impression.
Saltgrass is lucky to have someone like Arron on their team, and I’ll certainly be asking for his section the next...
Read moreI've been a Landry club member for 12 years. I begged for a salt grass in New Caney as it was a little drive to humble. We rec a saltgrass in New Caney and I was thrilled expecting the same wonderful service and food that I received in humble. That's not the case....I called 3 times to place a take out order as the on line service was not available for this location. First phone call I was told it was too early at 20 to 11am. In humble they will take your order. I called again at 5 to 11 was placed in hold and forgotten. I called back again after 11 placed on hold and forgotten again. So, I drove to the location to place my order. I had done yard work and really didn't want to dress but I did because I knew I had to sit inside and wait. Once arriving I had to sort my way through a large group of employees at the to go door and made my way to the bar. Only a few customers were there so they were not slammed. I ordered and waited. I was not offered a water or asked if I wanted a drink. I was not approached again until my order was ready. Then, in my order, I did not rec the complimentary bread that they didn't serve me while I waited for my order. I saw most of the same group of employees standing around. I look forward to saltgrass. I'm retired and when I buy there it's usually a special occasion. This time it was to celebrate my birthday. With the recent weather event, we had worked in the yard gotten very tired after straighten up some damage. I had looked forward to getting the take out from saltgrass. This poor service should not be tolerated by the manager. A group of 8 to 10 employees standing in the way of customers? Putting a call order on hold 2 times? Not offering a waiting customer water or the usual complimentary orderves? My protest statement was not to tip and i will not return to this location. I will go to humble next time. The range rattlers are cooked far better at the humble location but the onions and carrot cake was delicious. I usually rec the cake for my bday complimentary so i give a a large tip but the service and part of my order was bad. I do not recommend...
