Let me start by saying that this was our first time visiting this bakery. At our arrival, the young lady was inside the kitchen, so there was nobody in the counter to receive customers. It was 10:15am already so, as per Google, they had been already open for over an hour, but no music or nothing to let you know they are actually working. The young lady then came out, but didn't greet us or nothing, she just went directly to the register. We told her it was our first time there to see if she would take us through their options, explain a little about the bakery they has, etc. That would be better service and would create a more welcoming enviroment. We ordered a strawberry cheesecake, and a lemon bar, with two lattes. The coffee is great, you can tell the quality of the beans, highly recommended. The sweets were good as well, but not great. I don't want to be unfair because I know that to keep cold bakery as fresh as possible you need to keep it on the fridge and it is almost impossible that it does not get some type of "fridge" taste, but for the price I would expect a fresher taste. I did asked the attendant about how fresh their bakery is, and she said that they keep things for no more than 2 days, but you can tell it gets a taste, it was specially noticeable on the cheesecake. For the price you pay, I would also improve presentation. When served, they let the same paper they use to keep the cake on the fridge and they simply put it on a plate like that. Possibly putting a new paper on the plate, or swirl a little of strawberry syrup on the plate, a little of fresh whipped cream would greatly improve presentation, without impacting cost. Lemon bar was good, had a nice flavor balance, but again that fridge taste, but not as strong that as in the cheesecake. Again, coffee was amazing. Store decoration is beautiful, looks clean and everything well put together. Is sad that the location in enclosed in a shopping center. The ambiance is great inside but as soon as you look out, all you see is the parking lot and that breaks the nice vibe. Themed tinted window film, with a couple of plants in the corners could help keeping the good vibe inside the location, and not disrupted by the visual contamination of the parking lot. One last detail was the ladies bathroom. It is clean, but it wont hurt to change the damaged roof piece, as shown in the picture. Don't get me wrong, the place is beautiful and I can recommend it, specially the coffee, but small details, like presentation at serving, take care of the bathroom right away, and possibly a more sympathetic employee will make a world of difference. In total we paid around $24 for 2 lattes and 2 bakery items, so it is on the expensive side. That price give space to improve the small details. We will be back, for coffee. Bakery? That will possible be a pass...
Read moreI'm not happy with the customer service at this place. One of the owners who just dropped off my cake (it was a man-- I think his name is Mango) was VERY rude. I understand that you are having issues after the storm with your trucks but that doesn't give you an excuse to have an attitude when you drop off your products.
The communication/ organization here is terrible. First off, the owner/driver went to the wrong address (even though I confirmed the correct address with the shop 3 DAYS before my event via text). They arrived almost an hour before my scheduled delivery time (even though I confirmed the correct delivery time 3 days before via text) and we weren't ready. Not sure how this happened when there was a text message that they could easily refer to.
When I asked him questions about leaving the cake out too long (since they were an hour early) and why serving utensils weren't included (during my tasting I was given the impression that this would be included) he was very condescending and abrasive...saying things like, "I've been doing this for 15 years and we never offered serving utensils." Then you need to pass that information on to your staff during the tasting because something was lost in translation.
The owner had a MAJOR NASTY ATTITUDE during the entire time he dropped off my cake--- I did not appreciate that and it was very unprofessional. And he kept complaining that he had another delivery to make in Katy---which is not my problem. Be a professional and keep your woes to yourself. This is your business--stop complaining and being rude and learn to appreciate your customers.
Overall, I've had multiple issues with this shop ever since I placed an order with them for my baby shower. There has been a major lack of communication, at times there was a lack of response and now the owner that drops off the cake has a nasty attitude? I will NEVER buy anything from this place again. If you need a cake for an event, go somewhere else where the owners aren't rude and...
Read moreThis was my first time visiting this location. Upon coming in a worker immediately came from the back asking âwhat can I get for youâ in a rushed tone rather than a welcoming greeting. It was my momâs first time ever visiting so she wanted to look first. We went to pay, and all was fine then the worker said it didnât go through yet we had gotten to the final screen on our end. Iâll admit I was distracted because I was translating for a customer who spoke Spanish only,(Iâll point out it would be ideal to have someone bilingual). Anyways they made us pay again so we did. Then we realized they forgot to ring up an item I asked for. So we paid again. Upon checking my account this morning I was double charged for the first order, so she did not check correctly when she made us pay again. She seemed very distracted which is odd since I the client was the one translating services for another client, and another worker.
We ate there - we were also not asked if it was for here or to go she just bagged everything assuming it was to go but asked a client after me if it was for here or to go.
Multiple tables had plates still on them and were dirty with no customers sitting on them. My 7 year old commented someone should really clean those tables. And that she didnât like this location that much because it was dirty. (We are big fans of humble location)
It was also empty and not busy when we got there so Iâm not sure why it was so messy.
The workers seem young, which is fine. They definitely need to work on their customer service skills. Smile, be kind. Make people want to come back. Iâm hesitant to give this location another chance. And Iâm not one to normally post a review this long but I took my mom and daughters here expecting a good experience. The location is lovely but could use work. Itâs not an inexpensive bakery to just not care about customer service or presentation. Pretty walls and decor donât hide dirty tables and poor...
