There was sour food on the buffet. We noticed our son was not eating well. So, my husband tried his chocolate pudding. He immediately spit it out and said that it did not taste right. I tried it, and I immediately could tell it was spoiled. We immediately told our waiter. He didn't do anything with the information and just kept allowing it be remain on the bar. There was another little boy about the same age as our son who had been eating it as well. Unfortunately, they had already left before we knew it was spoiled. My husband went to pay our bill and let the man ringing people out know. Still, the spoiled food remained there for everyone to get. I couldn't believe this! We weren't asking for anything (no discount or anything free). All we wanted them to do was to keep others from getting sick.
So when I went to leave, I went to every table and told them not to eat it. I told them that we had already reported it, but nothing was done. As I went to the front, I told the man up front again. He just stood there. So then I said, we have told y'all three times now that your serving spoiled food, and you are doing nothing to prevent patrons from getting sick. He just ignored me. Then, I said if my son gets sick, I'll sue your business. He then immediately jumped up and grabbed the spoiled food. We just left there. I hope and pray my baby doesn't get sick from the...
Read moreMy husband and I were on our way back from the beach (we live in Goldsboro) & we were both craving Chinese food. Honestly I haven't been to a decent Chinese buffet in such a long time & I hate hibachi because the food is almost always cold & never fresh. So not going to lie, I was a little skeptical. Anyways we stopped here after looking on google. And it was really clean inside, and the waiters were also very nice. The selection is not as big as hibachi, but don't let that steer you away. Since this is a smaller buffet than normal, I feel like the employees are constantly bringing out more food and are more aware of whats fresh or what items they are needing to cook & bring out. The food overall was also very good, everything I ate was hot and had great flavor. it surprised me. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is the dumplings, I saw another review up here that said they tasted like cinnamon, which is absolutely true. I wasn't a fan. Another down side is that it was pretty loud in there, lots of kids and people talking loudly. But you go to a buffet for quantity not like a super quiet dining experience. As a whole I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a good Chinese buffet & we...
Read morePretty sure that this place has never even HEARD of a servesafe Cert. Im a Food Safety manager myself and I can definitley state , Golden China wouldnt make a 100.
Wife and I stopped in today, which resulted in a near death experience for her. After she experienced the same symptoms that she has when exposed to her food alergies of Coconut and Pineapple, I alerted the staff that there was an apparent cross contamination issue. I mentioned that they DID have Pineapple chicken on thier buffet. Manager insisted that this wasnt possible as they cook ordered plates seperate from the buffet bar.
I would like to see this, becuase it makes no practical sense to cook it like that.
This is on top of the fact that the food itself didnt have a particularly appealing taste.
While the plates themselves APPEARED to be clean, I noticed a large number of insects (namely flies) had taken up residence in the men's room. It should also be noted that I requested a new set of cutlery for my wife and was handed a single fork with no degree of wrapping or sterile packaging whatsoever.
Cant recommend ever...
