We used to frequently stop at this Chick-fil-a on Thursday nights after bowling, and it always had great food and service. Yes, sometimes they had rough nights, but for the most part, they had the best service for fast food in Kinston.
Let me just say that we did not expect the complete chaos we experienced last night when we stopped here (a Thursday night, around 8:30). The girl at the drive thru who took our order stopped mid-order at least three times to tell us to hold on, and then rang us up for something none of us ordered, even after we told her when she read it back to us that it was incorrect. My friend ordered a grilled chicken wrap, with apple cider vinaigrette sauce, and he received an 8 count nugget with no sauce. We also ordered 3 large waters, and received 2 at the drive thru window. My husband had to tell them that we were supposed to get a third water, which was recorded on the receipt, and the girl working the window rolled her eyes when he mentioned it and proceeded to argue with him like we were trying to steal from them, even though it was clearly written on the receipt. She was too lazy to read the entire receipt and told us only two waters were on there. My husband had to sit there and explain to her how they, the employees, rang up the receipt at the establishment they work at. When she realized she was wrong, and that the third water was rung up as a "misc. water" (even though it was supposed to be on a combo) toward the bottom of the receipt, she did not apologize for her attitude and acted like it ticked her off that she was wrong.
Quite frankly, they all acted like it was beneath them to serve customers. It was reminiscent of a trip to Beulaville's McDonald's, and that is a reputation this establishment does not want to develop. The only one doing their job correctly was the boy wearing glasses who stood outside collecting payment in the drive thru.
Lack of help in the restaurant was not a factor for the chaos, because when we pulled up to the drive thru window, there were at least four people standing there not doing anything. One girl, who had black hair and glasses, was leaning against the wall and also rolled her eyes when my husband had to ask for our third water. We did not see them help the drive thru attendant (the one who fussed at us) do anything other than stand around talking. The dining room is also closed, so I'm confused as to why so many people are there "working" and the service is still slow and terrible.
Like I said before, this location used to be fantastic, and I'm not sure how it is on other days/nights, but the Thursday night crowd on 11/11/2021 was rude, lazy, and disrespectful. This used to be our favorite place to stop for fast food in Kinston, but we won't be back until we hear the...
Read moreChik-fil-A in on Vernon Ave, near Lowe's, Kinston, NC has the best drive-thru service that I have ever experienced!! I have asked them to go help out the nearby Wendy's who never get my order correct. The actual drive thru lane is always full, but the line moves quickly. Don't see it and turn away!! You enter a well painted 2 lane drive thru, in the right lane. About 2 car lengths past the food window, there is a well marked merge point which is manned by a worker in reflective gear. The worker directs traffic so new customers may merge into the actual food line, while customers who have received their food are able to merge into the outbound lane. The two lanes are separated by pylons to avoid vehicle accidents. Workers in reflective gear cross both lanes when appropriate to deliver food to customers who previously purchased meals using Chik-fil-A's online App and are parked in designated pickup parking spots. You continue slowly in the drive-thru lane where you will be approached by one of several workers with iPads. The worker will ask for a name to identify the order, take your order, and accept you card to scan. Otherwise you may pay at the outdoor casino register. I always use my card. I stop at the register to receive my receipt. I follow traffic to the food window where there are two or more workers who will bring your meal items to your vehicle. If there is a short wait needed you will be asked to move forward a little for a very short wait. That allows customers behind you to drive around your right side and merge to the exit lane. By the time you have ordered, paid, and arrived at the window, the food is almost always ready. The workers are all dressed well in red shirts and black slacks, have excellent customer service skills, respond "My pleasure" to your thank yous. The food is excellent too!! Roy Cronkhite,...
Read moreI live in Kinston and every time I’ve gone for the past two years my food has been awful and the service has been even worse. My fries taste as if they’ve been sitting out all day, my nuggets taste either burned or as if they’ve been cooked in bad grease, my parfaits have been missing fruit, and my drinks taste like they’ve ran out of syrup every time. The young blonde girl that’s been there the past two years or so gives me the ugliest look every time she’s working and I happen to go up there and I have no clue who she is. The only good employee there is the lady who’s been working there for the past like 15 years or so however I’ve noticed that the owner also works very well when he’s there. Every time I get my food it’s cold and tastes awful and for the past year I’ve only gone up there for ice cream, a fun drink, or a parfait because you can forget your food or soft drinks being good. I will NOT even be going there for an ice cream cone or a parfait anymore because every time I get ice cream, there’s ice cream all over the cone and they don’t bother to wipe it off. I just got my last parfait from here as well because they decided they weren’t going to put any fruit in there and even when they decide to do so they only put one to three little slices of a strawberry in there. They might say my pleasure but it’s because it’s their pleasure for wasting your time and money. I DO NOT RECOMMEND GOING TO THIS...
