A Gastronomic Odyssey at 1881 Dubai: Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, and Uzbek Delicacies
From the moment we stepped into 1881 Dubai, it was clear that this was not just a dining experience but a journey through a rich culinary landscape. Nestled in the heart of Florida, this restaurant is a treasure trove of Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, and Uzbek flavors.
The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between elegance and comfort, setting the stage for an unforgettable meal. The decor is tastefully done, with classy touches that complement the theme of the restaurant. The wood fire visible in the cooking area not only adds to the rustic charm but also promises an authentic taste experience.
Our culinary adventure began with a simple yet impeccable hummus platter, accompanied by crisp cucumber slices. This classic Middle Eastern dish was executed to perfection, setting a high bar for the rest of the meal.
The highlight of our meal was undoubtedly the mixed kebab grill platter. This generous offering included a delectable array of chicken, lamb chops, steak, and lamb, each piece grilled to smoky perfection. Accompanied by freshly baked bread, crispy fries, and tangy onions, this platter was a testament to the chef’s mastery in blending spices and flavors.
The pomegranate juices served were a refreshing interlude, tasting so natural and fresh, it was as if the pomegranates had been plucked and juiced right before serving.
But the true star of the show was the homemade baklava. This sweet, nutty, and flaky dessert was unlike any we had ever tasted. It was not just the best baklava in Florida; it was perhaps the best we’ve ever had anywhere.
1881 Dubai is more than just a restaurant; it’s a culinary oasis in Florida, offering an exceptional blend of Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, and Uzbek cuisine. The atmosphere, the quality of the food, and the impeccable service make it a must-visit for anyone seeking a unique and delicious dining experience. We left with satisfied palates and the certainty that we...
Read moreIf you are looking for “American Style” food, then this is not the place you’re looking for. It has the appeal and atmosphere of a southern country Floridian vibe, but is deceiving. You will know when you open the menu to reveal samsas, lamb, and kebobs instead of the steak, potato, hamburgers you would assume this establishment to serve. I was open to the menu and found that their fresh warm bread, lamb, beef was really good. I loved the fact that they honored the past by keeping all sorts of memorabilia of what the place once was… a place we appreciate as people from Kissimmee that have made it home. It also educates the travelers who are curious about a piece of Kissimmee’s past and humble times. They have a great comfy patio where you can choose to eat, some really creative yummy alcoholic beverages, and it’s right in the middle of the night life of Kissimmee, with a few bars and clubs in walking distance. A little on the pricey side and it is up and coming. So a lot of the staff haven’t gotten their groove in the kitchen. They most possibly need one more bartender. Didn’t care for just getting one drink at a time. My boyfriend got served and it took them about ten minutes each time so I can get my drink. As for the server, with all the tables he was working, he has an A for effort. Very friendly and amiable. The banana desert we chose was pretty good but not sure worth $5. We were eating in a more posh area so I did expect the price boost. Makes sense, they have to keep the lights running. As for will I go back. For the Samsas and a drink, and hoping to get the same server, yes. Maybe one day they will have a...
Read moreWe decided to head out to 1881 for a Friday Night Date Night. We found this gem to be a well rounded location, it has an area for literally all types of atmospheres. When you walk in there is a Wine room in the left that’s quiet and super cosy . The main room has a large bar and several tables for all sorts of parties and the outside area was so cute with the live band a bar window to keep you hydrated.
Our Server Leyden was awesome she suggested amazing drinks and accommodated my low carb request by making me a real skinny spicy margarita…it was perfect. Then she suggested the Chicken poppers and wings. Let me tell you as a tried and true Wing lover these were AMAZING. We could tell they were perfectly seasoned and then tossed in sauce served with homemade ranch or blue cheese both equally spectacular.
We loved 1881 so much we decided to come back with the family for lunch the next day. The kids went with The fish and chips and Chicken tenders. They said they were so good and not only that but them fries are hand cut and crispy! Seasoned to perfection!
I asked for a Burger with a lettuce wrap which they had no problem accommodating. Most of our party was really curious about the Buffalo chicken tacos and they did not disappoint. For dessert we tried the funnel cake fries. The kids said they have to have them again because they were served with Carmel and chocolate which was a needed variety at our table…lol Honestly, anything you get on the menu is probably going to be delicious.
We honestly can’t wait to go back and maybe we will even try coming out for Karaoke on a...
